Today, in a nation (and world) where government and the corporate sector are increasingly entwined and mutually advantaging (cronyism), is it any wonder civic architecture is largely indistinguishable from multi-national business HQs?

A very one sided event and precious little discussion by the panel. This stance, by both modern and classical architects, of insisting their way is the one and only is a lot like our Democrats and Republicans. Good architecture is good architecture, and there are more than enough horrors on both sides to be ashamed of.
