I also love the look of those big, colorful buttons on your top. Your fabrics were all beautiful. Good internet shopping. The Kentucky Derby was run here yesterday. It is always a huge spectacle and from the crowds it didn’t look like anyone was the least bit concerned with COVID. I’m disappointed you didn’t give which Bernina you bought. I have loved sewing on mine for 40 years and bought each daughter in law one from eBay. Hope you continue to enjoy yours. One thing I have used to combat the old smell on some Singers is fabric softener sheets and also put some in the cases also. Happy sewing!

I wake up couple times in the night too, and get on my laptop, watch youTube, order fabric, and get on my phone and play games. The fabrics are very nice. Can't wait to see what you make. I get so excited to get fabric in the mail. If I could sew it as fast as I order it, life would be easier!! The purple/black you order is like some of the ones you dyed. My husband thinks I am nuts being awake in the middle of the night. I just can't sleep. I do like the huge print and brighter the better!

I’ve ordered loads from both pound fabrics and pound a meter and they’ve always been good value. Pound fabrics are in my neck of the woods. Pound a meter are struggling with their deliveries at the moment but well worth the wait. Enjoy your sewing 😂

You will love your sewing machine! I have several vintage machines because that have sewing power on leather and making bags! You will need extra machines for all your new fabrics ! I have been gifted twice with a lot of fabric , so along with fabric I already had I will not be buying fabric for years! Happy Spring, it is beautiful here today in Oklahoma!!

Hello! I just found you today. I love watching fabric hauls so I thought I would take a look. I found your video to be very charming and personable. I learned something new also. I had to look up and see what a telephone portal was. I live in Texas in the US. So thanks for letting my brain do some work. 😊 I am an anglophile from way back. When you showed the green fabric with the hounds tooth like pattern and you said you have no idea what to do with it, a picture popped in my head of a swing jacket of some kind. But it may be too drapey for that. And finally, I have found just because something is older and has been used before, that doesn't it's not fabulous. I would love to see your new(vintage) Bernina. Hi Karen, Lovely to hear from you and to know that I have educated you on what a portal is. I must confess I had no idea until the adverts kept popping up on TV during the lockdown. We were using it the other day chatting with our grandkids and we loved how it kept zooming in and moved around as they moved around the room. A couple of months ago I bought a Bernina 530-1 which was made in 1959. I had never used a vintage machine before but I cant tell you how much I love it. You have to oil them regularly. I was hoping you would show the machine as I wanted to know if you had the same or similar model. Anyway, I hope you enjoy sewing on yours.

Hi Micho Love the old machines, I have two beautiful singer featherweights! They smelt musty when they arrived-especially inside the cases. Putting the cases in the sunshine certainly helps, but I kept a few tumble dryer sheets inside the cases when I store them away!

That is a great price for a Bernina - I’m in the market for a new machine and have a bernina overlocker but a basic Bernette sewing machine. I have been stalking reconditioned/ex Demo/ second hand bernina machines but they go quickly. I’m not a fan of the grand national but wow so much fabric......I’m being good and trying to actually use up stash fabric but it’s so hard not to buy something....

How much material do you usually buy when not knowing what you will make at the time of buying?

I generally buy 3 metres if I think it would be a dress or 2 metres if it's a top. Sadly many don't do half metres but if they do I'd drop those lengths down a bit. However, if I end up with a spare metre I often sell that on eBay. Someone is bound to be slimmer than me and van make use of it. Sometimes I recoup the cost, sometimes I don't, but at least it helps me clear the deck a little. 👍😉😍

Michou, congrats on your Bernina. I have a Bernina Artista 730 embroidery machine. I use it mainly for sewing. It definitely is a workhorse. Check KZbin for tips on using your machine.
