Same here. I really love these lenses on my Gh5 (Can't wait to see what the GH6 has in store for us.) If Sirui is going to be giving MFT this much love, I'd love to see them come out with a 12mm version. 24mm on MTF is still nowhere near wide enough for some shots. Especially in small locations.

Yeah, if they iron out these small issues you mention, one can only be impressed with how far they have come in so little time and how much they offer for the money. Would be great to see other mounts and optional oval aperture inserts for 2x-looking bokeh. And eventually of course, a set with a higher squeeze.

MFT can be adapted to Sony E mounts so it's basically 2 mounts in one. And since these are fully manual lenses, so it won't matter if the electronics don't work

Mft is not bad at all but I feel they started of with the worst focal lengths. First out the gate should of been a 16mm or 24mm

Not really, we didn't shoot with any of my modded lenses there! The MARS have a solid rear build that I didn't feel comfortable fiddling with.

I'm thinking about buying this set used. It's MFT mount but supposedly I can get $20 adapter to e-mount for each lense for my Sony fx30. Has anyone tried this and did it cover the entire super35/aspc sensor or do i get black bands?

Does it have metric markings as well? Wish they would offer swappable mounts! That would be PERFECT. Let me bring my lenses with me, even when I swap camera bodies. As I bet some of these might (with some vigettes, that I can crop out) cover a X-T4 sensor, or a FS7 sensor, etc

How closely do these lenses match colorwise? On my original set of 50, 35, and 24, the 35 is significantly warmer than the other two lenses. The 24 and and 50 are a little closer, with the 50 being a little cooler than the 24.

Was the sample footage done with or without a mattebox ? What's the image circle? is it M4/3rds, S35,? And, is there any vignetting showing on the sensor? Did you find any issues with lens breathing?

Without mattebox for this video. Image circle is MFT open gate (GH5II), I don't believe they cover S35. No vignetting showing up on any of the lenses even with filters on. Breathing: same thing as the other Sirui lenses, the squeeze changes at close focus.

Fitting Mattebox would have deeper contrast and less flares, because the front element is shaded,.. which is always a pain to do on projector front element add-ons :) Sounds like the breathing would be similar to classic anamorphics then.

I shot with a mattebox for an upcoming video, so you'll have the chance to see that too. I wouldn't be surprised if the image circle is JUST ENOUGH to cover MFT.

I don't know why Sirui is locking themselves into MFT there's no futureproofing that product if it can't convert to EF or PL.

Sony Venice can be adapted to e mount and I'm pretty sure you can get a M43 to e mount adapter? Also Z cam F6/S6 with m43 mount. Canon RF will likely work too.

The EF/PL flange would mean bigger lenses and fiddlier designs. Also anamorphic with adapters might not be as simple a process as using spherical glass. Since these lenses don't cover full frame, they're not as much use for the FF cameras out there. Sirui did release E Mount, X Mount and Z Mount versions of the lenses though. Those might still happen

Since you have these lenses, you couldn't test them on a camera with an S35 sensor even if it doesn't fit! Doing the test so that we can know if it covers the sensor without vignette! It would be possible for you to do this test since there are many colleagues with the same doubt! Thanks

The only camera I can think of that has an MFT mount and a larger sensor is a Z-Cam, which is not a very popular camera in that configuration. Am I wrong here? In any case, I don't have the lenses anymore. :(

Well at least I can adapt mft to Nikon z. Not the greatest adapter as it's only 4mm thick but it worked on the 50mm Sirui for a z7 and z50

So.... could Sirui just release these as single pieces? Or in customizable pairs (I'd love to get just the 35 mm and 75 mm ones)? Also, quite glad for MFT (I would love a L Mount version, but maybe Sirui would come up with a FF set at some point). Looking at how things are going, we should have external BRAW Support in the Panny GH6, along with 4K 120 fps and the other goodies. These lenses would be a godsend for using MFT for professional projects (as your footage demonstrates too)

Do they still have the small change in squeeze factor (I mean zoom in at 1.25 instead of 1.33) ? Not that it bothers me. By the way, looking at the first reviews of the blackmagic studio 4k cameras by people who never even have seen the thing from close, MFT is the worse mount that ever existed. If you have a e mount to m43 adapter it would be good to know if there is still s35 coverage on your Sony camera. Here i am thinking oh z cam owners who can put m43 mounts on their s35 and and ff cameras. Answer that and I will become a member of you channel. Even if the e to m43 adapter is crap, that substantial lens support may mitigate the adapter crappieness.

I don't think there is coverage. The glass is slightly smaller than the original versions - which I believe makes up for the small difference in weight between this set and the original lenses, although the mechanics here are much heavier.

It's worth nothing that even if it's MFT lens, it should still have Super 35 coverage so you can get a Sony E to MFT adapter and even a Nikon Z to MFT Adapter. Found on Amazon ez enough so I would love to try these on my Nikon Z6 in DX Mode as well as a Sony A6600 with stabilization or any Sony camera with a decent crop/clear zoom mode

Dear Sirui fans, I would like to report on my issues with Sirui's marketing strategy related to their anamorphic lenses. I have had a rather long correspondence with their project marketing department. I won't quote any of their statements directly to avoid potential legal troubles. I will just explain the issue that I have with their way of dealing with loyal customers, although I fear that my comment will get deleted as it has happened before within another comment section ...

My reason for contacting them was to ask them about their way of treating those people having backed up all of their anamorphic campaigns on Indiegogo. Most of those people - me included - spent a rather large amount of money on Sirui's original set of anamorphic lenses, didn't even use it properly until the set got completed, and would now prefer to own the new MARS set even if they had to pay an additional amount of money. Whereas I can understand that Siriu can't just offer a replacement while charging some kind of adjustment payment, I was asking for some sort of adequate discount so that I could sell my old set and get the new one. Sirui just asked me for a proof of my former purchases and gave me the runaround using rather generic responses.

I'm feeling the need to tell you this since it really feels like being left behind by a company that claims to really support Indy filmmakers (and of course does so in certain ways). It's extremely frustrating since many of us even spent additional money on different focus gears, filters, cases etc.. (BTW: That might be the reason for not including focus gears for their original lenses ...) After all, we - the early supporters - made development of the MARS set possible and now, we aren't getting any real attention. Considering that Sirui had early plans on releasing the MARS set later on, this is quite deceitful and extremely disappointing for those who supported their campaigns and would benefit from the upgrade. Whereas, unfortunately, I don't believe that Sirui will change their mind on this matter, I just wanted to get my thoughts out there and maybe warn some of you for the moment when Sirui might announce their Indiegogo campaign on a 2x anamorphic lens. It's just so disappointing since apart from this issue, I'm a big fan of what Sirui has done for the Indy filmmaking community ...

Hey Martin! I'm sorry you feel that way, although I don't really agree with your rationale. That's part of the risk of early adopting. Indiegogo supporters definitely helped make the MARS set, as they took a lot of feedback from the first four lenses into these. But then, IG folks also paid less for the lenses and had more time to use them than people who decided to start at the MARS set. Besides, the original four can cover more sensor than these four, so, in some ways, the old lenses are better than the new ones. What would you consider an "adequate discount"? Something like RED's trade-in policy for some bodies/sensors?

It seems like Sirui considered something similar but decided against it in the end. That's quite disappointing. Whereas I appreciate the specific benefits of the old set - thank you for pointing them out - I would benefit enormously from the new one in terms of gimbal work: Although they are a bit heavier, they are much more alike regarding size (including filters) etc.. Selling the old set as "used" means a major financial loss when there is no adequate discount for early Sirui supporters. That way I would definitely have to spend more than 4.000 in order to upgrade. Nevertheless, you also made a point that product development takes time and feedback. But provided that this has been a marketing strategy, I would have preferred a bit more transparency. Best regards and much appreciation for your fantastic work
