I've been using this case as my main PC for almost a year and its served me quite well. Its a great little case I can fit in my backpack for when I need it at work and takes up very little space on my desk. These high draw low profile Noctua fans used in this video are a MUST for this case. Im using the same fans without the bottom intake with an R5 2600 and MSI RX580 and I've never seen temps over 80°C. The only drawback of this case is the lack of filtration, as I find myself cleaning out dust multiple times a year. Hope this helps anyone interested!

What they don’t tell you is shipping is like $40 to the US. And with the riser cable you end up spending $120+ to have it at your door.

I know at one point they were selling some of their cases from their US store with free shipping in the US, but it doesn't seem like anything is listed there currently.

Yeah, same for the Dancase A4. At that point I might as well go with the Ghost, because it accommodates better coolers and the lack of front IO will make it timeless (never obsolete).

I’ve been using this case for about 6 months now and couldn’t be happier! I personally enjoyed building the case, and being able to remove all the panels made cable management a breeze! With regards to portability, I take this with me on flights and car trips in my backpack. There are only a few very small and hard to see scratches on one of the side panel after multiple trips!

honestly, if it was stamped out of sheet metal, and had drilled and threaded screw holes, that could be a beast of a case
@AndrewFrink
@AndrewFrink 4 жыл бұрын
so on the topic of pre-drilled and threaded holes: that will make manufacture significantly more expensive as the precision required will go up. those "weird" rails are a common component and are basically being bought and cut to length by GEEEK and that is it. they could get the price back down but they'd need to be selling way more cases.

i've had this same case but in matte black since Feb 2019. the film is difficult to remove, but not a major problem. i'm surprised you mentioned so many problems during the build, i followed the instructions & had no issues with installing components during certain steps. i was pleased with thermals but i run a 1600 & RX 580. i do pack mine in a back & take it with me a few weekends a month & the case has stood up rather well. i hope the side panels change to be less restrictive but like this case overall; i can always cheaply replace any panels in the future.

If this is your first case you're actually building yourself, then you kinda can't complain about the build process. (Not saying I'm better cuz I haven't either, most I've done is mess around with a thermaltake core v21), trial and error can't fault a case on that alone. What you can fault it for though is how clearly the instructions indicated said construction. I could possibly see myself getting something like this, be hell of an experience and I've loved Optimum Tech's ghost case that I so wanted one til I seen the $200 tag lol. Been looking at the Lian Li tu150 (that handle is a big winner and the front IO as well a bit), this case is a contender for me now

If people are looking for a cheap mini-itx case i recommend the Sharkoon Qb One ITX. It's not as small as all those sanwich style cases and ut has no fancy see-trough side panels, but you can place it vertically or horizontally, furthermore it's under 50$ and well built for the price

The bottom fan was actually a bonus from the case to use a space that was left in the case underneath the PSU. Putting a fan below the motherboard would actually make the case bigger. In that case I recommend you get the Geek A60, which you can fit a full size 240mm radiator on top, that let's you water cool your Processor and Video Card if you go custom AIO.

Everything is covered in the plastic film because it looks like all the panels were cnc routed or laser cut out of acrylic/similar sheets which from factory come with that peel away film on both sides to keep it from getting scratched. The only way to add peel tabs is to glue them on with some kind of adhesive that's stronger than the force needed to peel away the films, but that'd be a lot of cost added because it'd be quite a tedious process and for such a budget case it likely wasn't worth the markup.

The biggest downsides based on what I saw in the video is the lack of filtration for longer use times between cleanings and the use of acrylic since it scratches easily based on personal experience. Sadly the 2nd one is a deal breaker for me.

If building a new pc, most likely I would pass on this case. It does look ok, but not amazing IMO. It's functional and the flat pack thing doesn't bother me at all, but for a total of $100 (case+pcie extender), i think i would just pick up something more to my liking. The one that has really caught my attention has been the Velka 3 (there's a chinese clone for $60). However, a huge negative on those is the FlexPSU since it seems their tiny fans get loud and that would definitely bother me. For now, I'm still enjoying my modded Raijintek Metis very much. And how things seem to be going, it seems I'll be using it a few more years since I still have about 2 more gpu upgrades and one cpu upgrade that i'm planning to do in the coming years. It does everything I need it to do so I don't see myself replacing it anytime soon. It is extremely quiet, will take the 8/12 cpu just fine with the AIO, can take dual fan gpu's, front USB3.0 and audio jacks, and currently holds 4 drives(nvme, ssd, and 2 hdd).

From a distance, it looks okay but you can definitely tell that it's a cheap case, which it is. Even with shipping and tax and Riser cable it is cheaper than most sff cases. But it does not look like its worth it. It really does look like a designs students final year project made with parts from a DIY store and a laser cutter
@xaytana
@xaytana 4 жыл бұрын
For all of the complaints about the case, especially how things are assembled, you're forgetting that this case shows that anyone can design and manufacture their own case. Every component of the case is easy to find and easy to have manufactured, the only difficult part is designing the case. Anyone can make an exact copy of this case with little effort. As for your complaint with the gpu's power cable interfering with the coupling nut, that's more of a design flaw that can be blamed on the card's manufacturer, as cards don't have a standardized length, but itx motherboards do have standardized mounting hole locations. The only blame is on the card manufacturer, but at the same time you really can't blame them, as this style of gpu mounting has really only become popular in recent years. A potential fix is to desolder the connector and either wire the cable into the card or wire a pigtailed connector onto the card. With standard mounting for the gpu, which would be directly on the motherboard, this issue doesn't show up, and cards that short are typically designed to be that short to fit into itx cases, so again, can't really blame anyone for bad connector placement in a non-standard mount. The only non-mod solution is to consider this issue when you're looking to build a system in this case, and to avoid cards with bad connector placement. Either that or just mount that coupling nut to the opposite rail, maybe with some spacers if they're needed. And for your complaint of the acrylic's protective plastic being hard to remove, they can't do much about that, as that's applied by the original manufacturer and is there while the piece is being laser cut. Just get a piece of tape with strong adhesive if you really need a pull tab. As for complaining about everything being acrylic and thus making the case a bad travel case, go replicate those panels with metal, problem solved. If you need more rigidity, just add more extruded rails to the inside for bracing, assuming there's room. Need a handle? Add one, the extruded rails allow for this. Need better fan mounts? Design a solution for that. Flat packing also saves space, both in warehouse and in shipping. It allows companies to store and move more units in the space they have. Plus if you really have complaints about having to assemble something this simple, then you probably have bigger problems in life. There's nothing special about this case, other than it being a pre-designed solution for what's possible with using some extruded rails, basic hardware, and some laser cut panels. Every possible complaint can be fixed with a custom solution. Need different panels? Design them and have them manufactured. Need a longer/taller/wider case? Get longer rails and design new panels for the case. Again, this is only one pre-designed case for this method of building cases, if you don't like something, or something doesn't work in your specific use, just design your own, it's not that hard.

I own A60 plus, it very sturdy. I use 240mm aio with the bigger case, top intake, bottom exhaust, could not manage to put 120mm fan so I put only 80 mm, its enough. You have to use their riser cable, and use it with motherboard that does not have reinforced PCIE slot. regular risers have the mounting holes too close. and because of the reinforced slot, the cable does not reach to the mounting holes , I had to buy longer cable, and found out about the first issue I wrote before :D

I too love building PCs, but our idea of cheap cases is very different. $69 in my opinion is a lower end mid range but not cheap. I reserve "cheap" for the under $40-50 range. Great video though.

Firstly, thanks for making this video! Really enjoyed the camera and editing work. PC looks great with your desk aesthetic. I completely agree that the intake would be better below the motherboard. Given that the case is "IKEA like", does it let you just unscrew the bottom panel and rotate it 180 degrees to reposition the fan or do other screw holes or alignment hold you back? The modularity of cases like this really intrigue me. Even more so if you can mix and match panel placement to make other designs from the same components.

Thanks for the comments dude, I tried rotating the bottom panel, no clearance between the mobo and fan unfortunately

@@JammyMunkyTech that is unfortunate. The manufacturer totally missed an opportunity for greatness if that had worked. Thanks for getting back to me though! Really appreciate your time.

Well you also added 60 bucks worth of Noctua fans and it would be smart to get a more expensive psu to have modular multi length cords. All in all its not cost effective. Inwin makes small cases with fans and power supplies made of metal for about the same price point total.

It's actually a lot cheaper in china. It's about 30 dollars and they have more models available, which might be limited to china cause I didn't find the other models anywhere else except china.

You are right, it is not cheap, but considering the 200+ Dollar alternatives (most of them only had a limited production run and are verry hard to get) it is as least worth a try. Mine houses a bios flashed vega56 and ryzen5 not bad for that tiny formcator :)

Seems very cool, i would buy one, but why it isn't available on Amazon and another online shops?, i hope they fix that in the future, i just saw this build is just 150$USD more expensive that the one i had in mind and this one allows me to use a Ryzen 7 and a Graphics card so i guess its better build a Mini-ITX PC with this chassis.

Yes, third comment. At around 6:14 you comment about how you would like to move the fan to the motherboard area in the case. Is that bottom plate symmetrical? I paused it here to write this comment, so that I may address my curiousity as to why the forethought was not put into this while creating this (instructions could have said to rotate 180 degrees).

I built this case last month. I think the hardest part is to get the cabling to all fit. I bought this case on black friday and essentially got the gpu cable for free. I couldnt find noctua fans that fit in the top area, so since this video I may swap them out. My top fans are pretty loud. Are these fans loud too?

this one is ok for what it is., but i still want a cheap sheet metal sandwich style case that doesn't cost a fortune. seems they all either use exotic materials like machined aluminum, or dont provide any emi shielding (acrylic cases like this one). they could get it down to the < $50 if they did a sheet metal case. one thing that seems wonky about the sandwhich layout is the psu in the front of the case. it almost always requires a re-route of the power cable or an extension that i see as a waste of space. i think what id do is have the psu mount directly into the bottom of the case, then using a 90-degree power cable and feet with more spacing. thus the power cable is routed under the computer rather than through it. it would also work in a reduced length configuration with the psu rotated 90 degrees for machines with shorter graphics cards and might take a liter or two off. i think with a 3x120mm fan layout in a negative pressure configuration with strategically placed passive vents would also work better than a push-pull configuration. i modded my elite 110 into a negative pressure configuration while adding a couple 92mm fans to the mobo side of the case (which took considerable dremel work and some 3d printing) and along with the 140mm up front is is really effective at dumping waste heat. negative pressure around the psu and gpu guarantees only fresh cool air enters them rather than warm recirced air from inside the case. i wish the cpu cooler had better access to cool air, and it does to a degree due to slots on the sfx to atx adapter plate im using, but a sandwhich case ensures all your hot parts get cool virgin air.
