Ok, so I KNOW this isn’t the most EXCITING content on my channel but I’m trying to bring you along for all the small stuff I normally do off of camera. It’s things like rock chip repair, headlight restoration, and even trim wrap that can drastically improve the exterior of a vehicle. Once I get the car to a good clean starting point, I’ll dive into the fun stuff. But thanks for hanging with me and hopefully you learn something along the way! - Anthony

What are you talking about this small stuff is great!
@ethanpeeler34733 жыл бұрын
This is definitely fun stuff. Mine is pretty good but still has a few spots. What about the other trims? Would you reccomend them too? And ik you're trying to do cheap, but if I dont mind putting in a $$ are there any other recommendations shy of buying a new one? I want to restore not buy new.

Had this problem with my DC5. What I did was I took them off the car, sanded them down completely to get a smooth surface, and then sprayed them with several layers of Plasti Dip. Yes, Plasti Dip. It can look terrible when you use it on wheels and body panels but it honestly looked OEM for these trim pieces because of its rubbery texture.

I’m working on a 93 civic coupe that I bought on fb marketplace. Was supposed to be a daily driver but after buying it has turned into a 3 month + project car. My trim is cracked to hell and has about half an inch where there’s no stripping just a hole that leads directly into the door on both sides of the windows, both doors. I can’t tell if it was previously replaced incorrectly but I’m wondering do I just need to bite the bullet and get replacements or if there’s any alternative to buying new ones? I’m not sure the vinyl wrapping would make a seal with how they’re cracked. Right now the stripping right there is the only thing keeping me from putting the door panels back on because there’s water getting in the doors and floor when it rains. Sorry for the long comment but any help helps

I hate to say it, But if i take the time to pull the trim off and sand it down im probably gonna spray paint it. Its just something about adhesives i don't trust in the long run.. Good video, would love to have a honda like this to work on!
@KushestWRX2 ай бұрын
You're probably right for doing it that way. My wrapped cars, I keep under car covers to protect the wrap from the sun. The uv is what messes it up and makes it a nightmare to take off. So unless someone plans on taking care of it like a wrapped car then painting and clear coat is a much better option.

The trim on mine had gone so bad that the metal had cracked and vinyl would have not helped. Thankfully, after some digging, I found both trim pieces for about $50 each at an OEM shop (just look up the part number) and plan on wrapping them soon.
