Your audience stays right with you, every word, for the entire journey. Casefile is a masterpiece. As far as this one goes- HOW could this individual ever be released? He tore that little boy apart after using him for his sexual gratification. Everything about this is wrong. If he could literally tear a child apart at any point in his life, he is lacking something basic and human. He certainly didn't find it in prison.

No matter how horrid the topics of the casefiles are, i always appreciate your storytelling. Its like we can see everything unfold right before our eyes. Yep. Yes. The parents not only have to cope with what happened to their son, but also the betrayal of the monster who did those things to him after pretending to be there to help. Then they have to feel an insurmountable amount of guilt for what I'm sure they feel is another betrayal of their son, by letting that POS into their lives and not seeing him for what he is. So many conflicting emotions.

Traveling around during the day isn't the same as being scared of the dark. I was traveling to school and around town to meet friends at 12 and did so with confidence but I still wanted a small light on at bedtime. @@ProofBeyond it was a different time. My eldest son was born in 1972. So by the time Jamie was murdered, my eldest was 25 yrs old. We lived in a suburb of a very large city: Los Angeles. There was no casual 'nothing better to do bus riding' at 8 yrs of age. His 1st across the city, on his own, bus trip occurred when he was 13. He had mapped out the schedules, routes, where he would transfer, cost everything: to attend an event he considered important, while I had to work. I had friends who thought that was too risky! And I know, that if something tragic had happened on that day, folks would have questioned my parenting too... In the end all we can do is learn from our own, and even other's, mistakes.

Don't condemn the parents! It was a different time. Loads of parents were confident that their children wouldn't come to harm by being out on their own, at the park, on busses, and such. My friends and I used to ride our bicycles all over our city, played in parks, were up to all sorts of harmless fun, always knowing we had to be back home by suppertime. No harm came to any of us! Parents today are too soft, creating scaredy-cat kids who crumple up at the first sign of hardship. "Helicopter" parents, is the term for such parents today.
