Thanks for watching~ What’s a family tradition that you would like to continue in your family?

What a touching tribute to one of your family traditions that seem to be carried on from one generation to the next. Yes, good food is passed on but changes can be made according to the person preparing the food. It's wonderful to know that your great grandmother taught your grandmother who in turn taught me who taught you and your sisters. We should all carry on good traditions and culture to the next generation so that they can cherish and embrace their heritage, whether it's from China or Hawaii, or wherever it may be.

I really appreciate the connection family AND how Asian Americans use implements from other cultures. Using a tortilla press is a great example. I grew up with a Mexican family, and we taught them to use chop sticks to turn bacon! I love the blending of communities and culture.

I love it too! It is because of war, trade and imperialism that we see similarities throughout all cultures! Not all bad things have bad outcomes!

Proof of the pudding is in the eating. I had some of Jonathan's gawken and they were really good. I wished I learned how to make my mom's fried chicken. Shame I didn't.

I wish my family had culture. We have zero recipes or traditions that have been passed down. I have to dig right back to Celtic roots. No idea what they ate or if I'll even like it. I love asian cuisine. We cook a lot of it. I want someone chinese to adopt me and teach me authentic methods. I shop at my local asian grocery store and ask customers how they cook random foods and they always encourage me to try new things.
