The groom is Korean-American and he married a Nigerian-American. The couple is based in the Atlanta area(where I heard most younger black men under 40 are not trying to get married anyway) I don’t see them moving to Nigeria anytime soon. Let them be happy.

Thank you for this piece of information. All Dr. Umar saw was a Chinese who has finessed Nigerians, with some rapacious economic intent. He probably came across it on social media and went of on his usual tangents.

Now jamaiocans cant even go on their own beaches, they lost their ports, and food resources there. Chinese speaks and own the jamaican patwa language and use it against the local jamaicans. Umar is absolutely correct in his observation. As a Nigerian, I know my country has a lot of resources that other people are so much in love with, which by the way, we may not even be aware of their existence. In the course of the Chinese doing their contract, they discover some of the mineral resources and most times steal them. But if they want to legitimize the business, they branch into connecting with our girls. And we have a particular ethnic group whose women die just to have a fling with any human that looks like a white man. And ones money is involved, the bond is sealed. And when marriage is included, the exploitation is foregone. It's an unfortunate situation for us really.

Black American here, I was having a drink at my spot in Entebbe Uganda having a heated discussion about business with my Ugandan friends and this happened. Out of the blue one of them said "...well we have culture". 😤. I kept my cool and asked each of them individually, who at that table would each of them rather do business with. The answer was with ME. I then said what good is your culture when I GOT SOUL👊🏾...mic drop, que the music. Honesty, Transparency, Integrity, Loyalty..You will not find me drunk in public, making lewd disrespectful comments and inapropriate entitled touching of women, lying, backbiting, and cheating customers, associates, and even friends, and denying obvious reality. If you keep rocking your sandals, sitting on your arrogant ass, having your mind stuck in the 18th century, watching other groups come in and build your country, then you are going to be the last choice of your own women when other options are available. The crickets suddenly became loud. 😂

I actually had to listen to the whole thing. The whole show is predicated on something that it isn’t. 1) That wedding was either in the US or the UK. 2) I’ll bet you those two met in school, college specifically. 3) Nigerian weddings are always hype, this is not an exception. We cheer people on that embrace our culture. It’s not necessarily seeking validation. 4) While I understand what Umar is saying, there’s a distinction btw Black groups. All operate differently. Your fight is not necessarily mine. 5) There is no rise of interracial marriages in Nigeria - we simply do not have a lot of non-Black people. Nigerians marry Nigerians for the most part. 6) Actually, in Nigeria proper, a young lady with a white man has strong stigma to it. 7) In general Nigerians don’t see White people as mini gods. Pls speak for your own country. Check out Julius Malema’s views on Nigerians. There’s a reason we have very few Caucasians in that country. Take care ✌️

@@aframaco9491 I'm proud of those Nigerian men in China making things happen for their families back at home. More power to them. They're utilizing local labor to get things sent home whereas Chinese industrialist hire their own to work in Africa alongside the locals. There's a difference in the methodologies. Money eventually circles back to China. Good on Nigeria if they've truly not sold out (although Tinubu hasn't exactly inspired confidence in that area) - the Chinese and other foreigners haven't any political sway there. The problem is what's the percentage of Nigerian women are married to Chinese men, extremely negligible so it's a none issue, there are foreigners in Nigeria but they are not in control of our economy, Nigerian own Nigeria and when they misbehave, they are cut to size, this is unlike other African countries. Umar has a point about Chinese marrying for business... but that's more in places like Zambia, etc. HOWEVER, as a Nigerian, I can tell you that families marry into families, whether Chinese, FBA or what have you... and that Chinese guy must engage the Nigerian culture, it's not expected its demanded. Part of that requirement is wearing the traditional attire, performing all of the necessary functions. In fact, they would have trained him to do it, so he doesn't embarrass himself and the culture. Also, a situation like that wedding - with the Nigerians spraying money - that's an established family that's not going to be "exploited" lol. If it's a poor girl in the village, who's parents are desperate and willing to marry out their daughter that's a different story. But that's not what was going on in that clip.

Although it’s not talked about, a lot of Nigerians(and African women in general) have married Black American men and West Indian men. They take part in traditional weddings and these clips have been spread on social media. The couple that is being discussed is based in the Atlanta metro(Korean and Nigerian). Both were raised in US. I don’t know why this relationship is sparking this type of conversation. I’m happy for them.

As an African-American woman service member who has traveled abroad, most Asian cultures are very strategic when it comes to marriage and family ties. It’s so serious that they want Chinese with Chinese, Korean with Korean etc. Open your eyes folks. For example in one European country I went to you could purchase land and or property if you were married to a European from that country. If my facts are correct it is the same in Nigeria. Not saying that man is not sincere. I do not know him. But as an African American woman my experience with most Asian men is they are expected to marry one of their own. Unless there is some kind of long term benefit not just for them but their culture. As a race of people we really need to wake up and stop with the foolishness and assist one another. Be Blessed.

I don't see a problem with it, black women deserve to marry and have families also. Most black men will not marry their own women and many black american women are single with no children because black american men want to marry women of other races. These black American women are higher educated and have great a salary and their iwn homes but are not married unless they marry outside their race, whos fault is that. I cant speak for African men but black american men need to get their act together. As long as black American men reject their own women then its ok for black American women to marry outside their race.

The Black population of America is 40-50 million ppl! minus 10 million under 18s! Leaving 40 million black ppl, give or take! Now lets do the maths! 40 million x $5= $200 million per week! That's $800 million per Month! And $10.6 Billion per Year!!! To Spend on Black Economics, And to Implement the Infrastructure!!! Oshay, thank you for your honest assessment of Dr. Omar who has enjoyed the fruit (i.e., funds) and labor of the people that donated to his imaginary school. I was offered an opportunity to do work for one of my fortune 100 clients who has a large office in Nigeria. I declined the work because the cultural norms are too difficult to negotiate. Polychronic and monochronic norms coupled with a lack of accountability and trust are a no go. To be candid, it is frightening to watch the plethora of videos featuring dialogue about African cultures where cheating, scamming and lying is acceptable. It’s sad that Africa finds itself in the perpetual state of being “a developing country” for generations. Simply stated, other countries are not going to do business in countries where business associates will cheat and steal without accountability, i.e., prison. Many countries in Africa need a paradigm shift. Get rid of the corrupt leaders and focus on building infrastructure and cultural norms that will elicit tourism and business opportunities. China turned itself around and so can Africa.

@Jae-zx2fc, you know what, that work you refuse to do, a Chinese or an Indian did it and benefited from it. I have said in many platform before. A lot of people especially African American don't want to do business or visit Africa because there is corruption, there is no electricity, there are no good roads, there are mosquitos everywhere etc. What they don't know is that, they can come in, help to solve some of these problems and make money. The Whites, Chinese and the Indians are coming to Africa irrespective of these problems. In some cases, they are helping to provide solutions to some of these problems, and they are making money. A good example is the construction of roads. Every year, we see road and rail construction projects worth billions of dollars awarded to Chinese companies throughout Africa. There African American owned construction companies in the United States, but they won't come to Africa because of the reasons I mentioned above. Lastly, this globalization thing is real. If anyone thinks that Africans should stop the Whites, Chinese and the Indian from coming to Africa and lock our doors against ourselves, it is a joke!
