@@logic.and.reasoning Dinosaurs may have farted themselves to extinction, according to a new study from British scientists. The researchers calculated that the prehistoric beasts pumped out more than 520 million tons (472 million tonnes) of methane a year -- enough to warm the planet and hasten their own eventual demise. 14:04 Sorry, read that part again. Does it say the tail was the SIZE of a cedar, or that it MOVES like a cedar? Now go and look at elephants when thy run, and note how they tense the tail and it sticks backward like a stick, in a very peculiar way. Like a cedar, sure. And when you see that, you know they're charging, so you better get out of the way. That part of the book of job goes on to describe BEhemoth just like an elephant. fo rexmaple the fact that an elephant can swim with the water covering his mouth, because he can breathe through his trunc. A dinosaurs liek a sauropod can't do that. He then sleeps in the shadow of under the willow trees, which an elephant can do, but which a giant sauropod could not since they wouldn't fit. So, is it more likely that they're talking about elephants, or a long since extinct animal that we have no reason to think anyone has ever seen since they were separate from humans by 63.5 million years?

You make so many wrong statements concerning the scientific consensus about...everything in your video that its hard to know where to start. 1. "Darwinism is the truth"......what do you mean with "the truth"? Darwinism...or the theory of evolution of species by natural selection has shown to be the most exact theory to describe inter and intra species variations. DNA evidence has only strengthen this. 2. "If everything was not created by a intelligent designer that means that everything poofed into existence litterally from nothing". This is false. This would be the case according to intelligent design. For example, humans evolved from a species before us, that species evolved before them etc. The same applies to every organism alive. In contrary, according to intelligent design, everything came into existence because of a intelligent designer...like magic. 3. You are using a picture of the actor Eddie Redmayne, playing Stephen Hawking as a picture of the actual Stephen Hawking. Just putting it out there. 4. "Atheists believe that rocks evolved, that smaller rocks somehow morphed into larger rocks": No, atheists don't believe rocks "evolve". Stone can change form though due to external change in pressure and temperature. This is basic geology. smaller rocks which are exposed to intense heat and /or pressure change into different types of rocks... its called metamorphic rock and its super common. Furthermore, granite for example is igneous rock which is rock formed though the solidification of magma or lava, which can form due to smaller rocks....forming a bigger rock of granite due to intense heat. 5. "Its much easier to just simply say that God created the world and that the world did not create itself" Yes it is easier to say this....Science isn't easy, that's why ignorant people tend to follow this. 6. "The world did not create itself from nothing" No one in the scientific community claims this. You your self say that "they" claim that dust somehow morphed into rocks as large as planet earth. Stay consistent at the very least....regardless of the gross, and i mean gross oversimplification of your description. 7. "There is no question that God created the world the Bible says...." yeah.... in absolutely no rational way is this a actual valid argument. lets not dive into this rabbit hole though. 8. "Granite.....somehow created it self": Who claims this? Granite is formed under the earths crust...NO ONE is claiming that "granite creates it self". 10. "Water destroys organic molecules" : I am sorry...WHAT??? you exist of of almost 80% water. This is only from the first 6 minutes..... Almost every single of your conclusions (in the entire video) is based on YOUR misunderstanding, misinterpretation, oversimplification, ignorance and the resulting jumping to conclusions based in pure willfully ignorance and misrepresentations of basic scientific principles.

25:19 Yes, but what it means to be a "cat" will chage over time. It's true that things remain within the same taxonomic group, always. That's why, as yo umentioned, birds are still dinosaursa, dn why humasn are still apes. The was a time when being a "mammal" meant being something that looked similar to a rat, and nothing else. But now, much later on, it can mean anything from being a whale to being a bear, but they're still "mammals". This is simply because we classify things based on their ancestry. Cats will always have cat ancestors, so they will always be cats, no matter how much they change. And even now, afte 1.6 billkon years of evolution, we are still eukaryotes, are we not?

6:30 Yes, you need a process. Take for example a bridge, and then destroy that bridge. Now, even though all of the pieces that made up the bridge are still there, you're going to have to use a bunch of other things during the process of rebuilding the bridge. Temporary support structures, machinery, and so on. Those things can then be removed again, once the bridge is repaired. In a similar same way, in order to produce a cell through chemical means you need a process that can produce a cell through various intermediate chemical forms, and perhaps using temporary support structure, at least by analogy. You cannot expect the parts of the cell itself to be capable of rebuilding itself, or we'd actually be immortal. The way our cell are, today, are based on them being produced through cell division. This woudl not be the case for the first cells.

14:47 Nah, it's more like saying that the rules that things play by have remained the same over time and space. That is, primarily that the laws of nature are the same across time and space, since we have no indicatio of anything else, and because we can genralyl see taht this is true. And if things do accumulate over time, then unifromatiranism would suggest hat this has always been the case under the same conditions. The rules don't just change. Just remember that accumulation isn't the only thing that happens. There's also erosion and weathering, which can remove and expose layers, and so on. It's nowhere near as simple as you sort of suggest, here.

20:22 But that was way earlier than when the monkeys crossed the ocean. The continents were much, much closer, then. In fact, for the first 40 million years of dinosaurs, Africa and South America were still stuck togehter, so you could just walk from one to the other. Affter those 40 million years, they very slowly started splitting apart. For a very long time, it would be no problem swimming across that divide. The dinosaurs in question here lived about 90 million years ago, rather than 40 million years ago, meaning the continents had not drifted very far apart, yet.

@@m0x910 Yes, it's called plate tectonics. It's convection streams in the mantle, which the tectonic plates "float" upon, causing a constant pushing or pulling on the continents. You can still measure their current movement. If the this movement had happened over a single year, it would have vaporized the crust of the Earth. You cannot imagine the energy required to move tectonic plates, and how much energy they have when they move at the kinds of speeds you're talking about. The Earth would have been destroyed. The fact that we are still here proves that it didn't happen. In reality, pangaea has been slowly moving apart over 200 million years.

We do know how life then diversified through evolution, since that's extremely clear. But how life first formed is not a settled science -- and it is not a part of the theory of eovolution, obviously, just like your talk about rocks and things exploding has nothing to do with theory of evolution or the theory of universal common ancestry. 9:48 FFS, read what it says. "..and a mix of complex organic compounds [...]". Does this article say that the water in those asteroids eroded rock to produce life, or does it say that the rock contains both water and complex organic compounds? First of all, the organic compounds are not rock. The rock contained it. There are organic compounds stuck in the rock, it's not the rock that is organic compounds, since a mineral is not an organic compound. It's not the minerals in the rock that matters, because early life might not even have used minerals. Rather, it's the organic compounds that are interesting. Do you not find it intersting that asteroids contain things like amino acids? The stuff that proteins are made of? It means those things did not have to be created by a process on the Earth, since they apaprently exist naturally even in asteroids.

16:36 I looked this up. The mountains in Santa Cruz, California, are primarily tectonic (uplift and folding) in nature. Once again, try finding marine fossils on top of a mountain of volcanic origin, since that should be equally common if they were all covered by a great flood, but you should only find marine fossils on tectonic mountains if the explanation is due to tectonic uplift, perhaps with the extreme rare excpetion where a find carried a fish up a moutnian before eating it, or something weird like that. IT shoudl statistically be a very clear difference. So, check it! Stop making these nonsensical claims without checking it! If both your story and tectonics would explain this fact, then it isn't evidence of either. But a world-wide flood would imply that you would equally find these fossils of volcanic mountains, which sets this aapart from the tectonic explanation. So, test it! Or do you not dare to face what you will find?

15:43 You get something like mount everest when the indian subcontinent has been pushing really hard against Asia, pushing that whoel chain of mountains up really high. Indeed, this chain of moutains used to be under the Tethys sea before India smashed into that place and pushed it up. That's why you have clam fossils, there. So, how about you go looking for clam fossils on a mountain that was formed through volcanism instead of tectonics? You should see just as many clam fossils on those, right? Do you? Oops, no you don't. You only find fossils on mountain chains produced by tectonic uplift, where they used to be under the ocean, where there are clams... Noah's flood is a story that was adapted from the Epic of Gilgamesh, which was in itself a mythological story that is in part based on the flooding of the city of Surrupak. So, you've got an adaptation of a myth based on a really large but still local flood, from a religion that predates Judaism. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, he meets a man named Utnapishtim, who was given eternal life by the gods after saving peopel and animals on an ark, from a flood sent by the gods. The story contians mane of the same details, such as how they sent out 3 birds to find land, and so on. Adn this story predates Genesis by around 2'000 years, give or take, and is written in the oldest written document we have ever discovered.

10:46 And, Matt, what does "biodegrade", mean, you think? Let me help you: "Biodegrade" refers to the ability of organic substances to be broken down by biological organisms, typically bacteria or other microorganisms, into simpler compounds over time. Now you tell me what microorganisms would manage to enter an iron crystal contianing heme? In order fot the heme they they found to biodegrad, you need a bacteria that possesss enzymes called heme oxygenases that catalyze the cleavage of heme into biliverdin, carbon monoxide, and free iron, and you need it to get into that iron crystal, underground, and somehow manage to digest the heme from inside the iron casing. It's not strange to think that there are cases where no such bacteria managed to do this.

@@m0x910 No, but the heme we find was inside of a bone. The specific bacteria needed to break down heme would need to survive being burried underground until they somehow got into the bone. If the bone was not broken, they could have died out before they had access to the heme. I don't remember in what way this specimen is through to have died, ifw e even know that. Some ways they might have died would have killed the bacteria, as well, such as being caught in a pyloclastic flow from a volcano, or perhaps sinking in a tar pit, I'm not sure. I can't say for sure what the bacteria would survive or not. But if this is a rare find, then some rare event/circumstances happened to allow it to be preserved in this specific case.

@@m0x910 You make a fair point, assuming those openings weren't clogged for some reason. But as I mentioned, there are various scenarios where bacteria would not survive, and you need the right kind of bacteria, capable of breaking down heme, specifically, and which ar aerobic or anaerobic depending on where and how the bone was deposited. In rare circusmtances, the factors may not have been right for the correct bacteria to be present, which is why we find rare cases where the heme hasn't biodegraded. For example, a place rich in oxygen is not going to have anaerobic bacteria living there, but aerobic ones. And if this is the deposited into an oxygen-starved place, the aerobic bacteria cannto thrive, so now you suddenly need anaerobic ones. And, as I emntioned volcanic eruptions, pyroclastic flows, can sterilize, as one example. I'm obviously not saying I know how this individual died.

26:47 Seriously, Matt, genetics is not themordynamics! The laws of thermodynamics does not apply to population mechanics...! It applies -- believe it or not -- to thermodynamics! And thermodynamics doesn't say that everyhting is tending toward chaos. Even if you equate "chaos" to "maximum entropy", this is only true for an isolated thermodynamic system, not to other things, specially when they aren't even in in the same cateogry of things! If what you were saying was true, live couldn't exist at all. The whole thing about life is that it avoids increasing its entropy by being a very open thermodynamic system, which means that the 2nd law of thermodynamics does not apply to life. That aside, even if it did apply to life, it doens't apply to population mechanics. You show me how population mechanics is an isolated thermodynamic system, and I'll admit you have a point. Good luck. Until then, how about you stop lying?

And the reason we can't do it artificially is that it takes millions of years for this process to produce that exact structure. Give _us_ millions of years to do it, and we _can_ do it! But remember two things whenever you talk about how we humans can't do something: that exists in nature: 1. Nature can do things we can't do, and we can do things nature can't do. 2. We can very often do things now that we couldn't do before, and we can expect to be able to do things in the future tha twe can't do, now -- not that this is relevant to what _nature_ can do!
