Claiming the title of "Pastor" is, in itself, a wicked sin that sets the stage for further moral downfall. When someone elevates themselves with a title that Jesus never endorsed, they are already walking in pride and rebellion against God's design for His followers. It's no surprise, then, that those who claim this unbiblical authority often fall into other grave sins, like sexual immorality. The very act of calling oneself "Pastor" is a distortion of true servanthood, opening the door to hypocrisy and moral corruption. These so-called "Pastors" are deceiving not only others but also themselves, thinking they stand above reproach because of their title. Their sexual sins make sense when viewed in this light-because their original sin was in taking a role of spiritual authority that Christ never intended. Once pride takes root, it grows, and other sins follow. Those who take on the title of "Pastor" are already in rebellion against God, and their moral failures are simply the natural consequence of their deeper spiritual corruption.

Stop going to church and supporting so-called pastors who exploit the faith of believers. Nowhere in the Bible do we see pastors as institutional figures like we have today, nor is there any command to "go to church" as modern religion practices it. Instead, the early believers gathered organically in homes (Acts 2:46) and shared leadership among the community. Jesus Himself never set up a formal clergy system, and the idea of paying a Pastor to preach was never part of His teachings. In fact, the New Testament warns about those who use religion for personal gain (1 Timothy 6:5). Worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24) and stop feeding the system that profits off the gospel. The church is the body of believers, not an institution or a stage for grifters who use the title "Pastor" for power and wealth. Seek God directly and authentically without supporting those who twist faith for their own ends.

@1Whipperin Do not think this is a reason to drop out of church. But certainly the issue like this needs addressing, correction, and mending.

@@BibleAnswerMan Drop out of going to church and be the Church. There is not one verse in the Bible that says to go to church.

I find it perplexing that of the many youtube videos I've watched about the recent "Lawson Affair", absolutely none of them even make the briefest mention of the complicity of the woman involved. So, allegedly, for 5 years she willingly was involved with Lawson, all the while knowing he held a prominent position in Christian leadership? Since she hasn't been named, nor, come forward to repent, perhaps we should refer to her as "Delilah"?

@steventerry593 Fair point. It does take two to tangle, so to speak. But of course such never exonerates the adulterer.

Pastors, teacher, professors, have authority over students. Elders have authority and power of younger people. Would you blame a student for tempting a teacher. Lawson is a fully mature man, a pastor, who had the power to exert control and authority of someone in their early 20´s who was a student at a university - an evangelical university - with which he was associated. Can you not see who had the power over whom!!!!!
