My dad went to Heaven on Dec 23rd in 87. The Most Somber Christmas Ever! I came home from Fla & sis came from Louisiana to Ohio. He seldom had awareness, being he had brain cancer. Mom said that 2 weeks earlier dad said that he was going to be with Jesus for his birthday! In Jan the Dr said, Maybe 6 months, but he kept going. God I miss him even after 36 years!😢❤

Sam did give a wonderful gift, but he abandoned her again. He was still family, even if Kathleen had a step-dad. If the ex wife still held a grudge, Sam's relationship could have been for Kathleen's new family. In reality, Kathleen would have sobbed to have lost him again, especially after learning what a great human being he turned into. None of the comments here seem to be concerned with Sam's well-being, and it was very odd that Kathleen did not run out to him immediately when she saw him from the window. Anyway, how did he know Kathleen would be at the mother's house that day and time? The bus turning up like that was surreal, and could not have been planned. The writer could and should have taken ALL the people into consideration, including Sam's change into that wonderful man. It was wrong that he had to lose his family again, and that now included a grand-daughter. The miracle ought to have included Sam.

Then, when the time comes where sobriety and counseling has given promise, it is short-lived, after they become disheartened when the "family" has moved on, and forgiveness and redemption takes longer than their recovery.

This is a movie that brings meaning any time of year. It is my first time watching and it is the middle of July. I was completely engulfed by the story. If anything, it is helping restore something I have lost in my own Life over the last couple of years. My Faith, forgiveness for both myself and others. Although I have spent most of my Life reading and studying The Bible, I had fallen away from what I had learned and believed. This movie, of all things, reminded me of what I had let slip away. Such a beautiful story. I lost my precious Mama to COPD on Thanksgiving Day 2022. She lived with my sister and I for the last 6 months of her life so that I could care for her with the help of a very wonderful Hospice Service that set up a hospital bed and came by a few days a week and it was a very God based Hospice Service ~ “Southern Grace” and their uniforms shirts read “His Grace Is Enough” They were truly earthbound angels to Mama and she got to pass away with us at home per her wishes. This year is the first year I’ve been able to watch Christmas movies. Mom loved Christmas and would watch the movies even in the midst of summer. She said it made her heart happy. This is my first time seeing this particular movie but I know Mom would have enjoyed it. I was in bitter sweet tears at the end just missing her so. Merry Christmas everyone!!!! I do agree. This movie is for everyone. I also like watching Christmas with The Waltons and Christmas with Little House on the Prairie. They are movies for the family who give to others what they have without being judged.

This movie was so heart drenching and makes you look at your own self. My sister who i was very close too turn away from me. This movie helped me forgive her and forgive myself. This was such a great movie I had no idea that Sam was her father until the end it was so well put together in such a great Christian movie I absolutely loved it the characters were great the love she had for the little girl was terrific two and the love she had for the father and that he had for her but the best part was the end when she found out that Sam was her father and she went to meet her mother
