A Circular Day Hike In The Tramuntana Mountains | Mallorca Island, Spain

Join me on a 7 mile circular hike from Cúber Reservoir to Puig de L’Ofre (1,093m), a mountain in the central Tramuntana mountains. This was a fantastic half-day hike (approx. 4.5 hours) with incredible views back to the highest peak in the Tramuntana Mountains, Puig Major, which stands at 1,436m with a summit that is inaccessible due to it's location in a military zone. Overall, one of my favourite walks on the island & would definitely recommend for anyone looking to explore this part of the mountain range, just 20km northeast of Sóller.

Dear Christine, thank you for the video and the beautiful circular route. We were at the edge of the Tramuntana mountains in Finka in 2018. We mostly rode bicycles, on a hike we also rode on donkeys 🫏 This is probably a typical picture for Spain 🇪🇸 In Mallorca, we saw a praying mantis for the first time, that was fantastic 😲In 2020 we wanted to go back to Mallorca, Because of the pandemic it was impossible. The area around the Tramuntana Mountains is comparable to Gran Canaria. Except for the lake, perhaps, the southern part of Gran Canaria is very dry. Kind regards Gerold 👋🏻

Thank you Tony! It’s a stunning island for hiking & surprisingly to me, more popular for cycling than hiking it seemed when I was there! As you say not sure where all the other hikers were, saw a few on the main GR221 route but hardly any climbing to the summit, really nice treat 👍🏻⛰️ have a lovely weekend, thanks for tagging along again 🫶🏻

Really stunning part of the island, yeah it was so tempting & I did see a couple cooling off in it - I made the mistake of not packing for a dip sadly! Enjoyed one back at the hostel though so can’t complain 🙌🏻🌊
