I ran this route last year and had the most amazing experience. Unfortunately my judgement of Mallorca had been clouded by a week in Magaluf when I was 18 - I think a lot of brits are the same. Mallorca is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to return!!

Mallorcan head wounds for the win, done similar and have the scars to price it ha ha, , hope the wound healed up! I interviewed a polar explorer for a mag a few years back and he was a massive fan of olive oil for dense calories, he'd cook dinner and do the same trick as you, pouring tons on his food for easy body fueling. Loving these winter getaway hike videos, stunning as always.

Mallorca is an beatiful isle. I was there with my friends on early May last year. As you filmed on the video, the hills are pretty steep but that view.... I fell in love with that. Esecially that view to town of Deia (22:30). Btw i love your shot with drone.

I spent a month backpacking through Mallorca last October and was so blown away by the nature and the mountains - I always thought it was just a package holiday kind of destination but it`s so diverse and any kind of traveler can find something for themself

All you have to do is google mallorca and you can see the landscape/mountains. You don't need to go back packing there to come to the realisation that it has a lot of nature/mountains. Mallorca, Tenerife, Madeira, the Azores, Lanzarote etc all have wonderful nature. Just because a place is known for its beaches, doesn't mean the island is flat and natureless. The North of Spain has some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet but most people dont visit it because its not as sunny. I'd highly recommend it, especially Asturias.

fabulous trip LIam. You would be surprised how many Brits head up to the Tramuntana mountains myself included although mostly on road bikes. The sunsets are insane and i can feel another trip to Port de Pollenca is required

@Lauren issues is an understatement haha, water is an issue as there really isnt any available on the paths around the islands, you have to go into towns and either ask for refills from restaurants or get bottled water from shops. I planned to camp when i was out there however, i dont really plan for any trips or travels that i go on which was a huge mistake for this trip as temperatures on the trails get down to around 4 degrees at night and all i had was a very thin blanket for cover so after 2 nights of shivering and next to no sleep i gave in and booked hotels the rest of the way round which was quite stressful as it was all being booked last minute and lots of places were full. So if you do decide to camp do bring appropriate equipment etc That being said the trail itself is absolutely stunning, definitely hard at times but some of the views are just otherworldly.

Crikey that's some rough country you went through there and aside from a bash on the skull, which made you look twice the next day (funny how accidents do that) I reckon hiking in those mountains would even be hard yakka for those goats. I've never been there but always knew it was the right place for me. It is so very beautiful and combines all the things I love about nature. Great video well done, as a expat living in Mallorca , great to see the other side of Mallorca, word of caution wild camping is illegal in Mallorca, if caught you will be fined..no open fires as well..even bigger fines! But a great way to see the island. There are council run hostels all along the routes, if you manage to pre book and plan your walk.

We're interested in doing a similar walk this Autumn in the Tramuntana mountains, back packing for a week or so. Any advice on pre-booking accommodation along the route? Is there any option of bag transportation like the Camino Frances? This makes it much more enjoyable as you only need to carry a small day pack..... Thanks
