+MACMAKEUPJUNKEE Nice! I once had my face done by an industry makeup artist, curtesy of my cousin. It was lovely that he got this guy to do the makeup for me, I appreciated it. But, realised then too that just because you have the MUA title doesn't mean you're good. It was good makeup but felt like he piled on a lot on my face, and that there weren't any variations in regards to how he did my face and how he did the other family members. (Dirty brushes too... which is bad for someone who has rosacea) I think it takes a lot of, not just skills, but awareness of individual faces to become an excellent makeup artist like Lisa. I think makeup should always be about enhancing, not covering/ changing the face that you no longer look like yourself (if that makes sense).

+MACMAKEUPJUNKEE Also, once on holiday I got my makeup done at the hairdressers... I think they used the 'Kardashian' map of contouring on my face, which obviously meant plying loads of foundation and bronzer, isn't it?... I guess I felt bad, half felt like it was my fault and didn't want to embarrass both of us, that I just allowed it. It was very silly of me thinking like that.. Anyways, makeup made me look like a drag queen..... I should have done the makeup myself because even if I didn't know how to do the skin, I can very well do my eyes pretty well. It's just that I've seen this type of 'contouring' everywhere that I thought... I don't know, it should work for me too because it's everywhere. Most MUA on YT do this, and if it didn't work for me, it's somehow my fault... But obviously, I know better now (never been into contouring in the first place). Also, this type of contouring don't suit a lot of Asian faces, imo, as I realise now.

When Alexa Chung first came out, I thought - 'wow, she seems really pretty in a scrappy, cool-girl kind of way.' With the make up, I thought, 'Ok. Yeah. She's definitely a model.' Gorgeous! I love Lisa Eldrige's tutorials, the problem is that it's hard to replicate because I don't have the eye for color she does. Everything is so harmonic, intentional & *tailored* to each model... A true artist.

I tend to really dislike foundation, I always feel like a blank sheet or empthy canvas and so I remove it immediately, even though it covers up pimples and imperfections as well (though sometimes it just gathers around the pimpel and makes it look even worse). But this looks really nice! You can still see the freckles and her skin has that nice glow without looking powdery. Looks very natural, none of that big contouring or things looking forced. And she is really gorgeous, the smokey eye makes her green-blue eye-color pop out even more. ♥

I'll show this video each time some makeup store lady tells me that I NEED to pluck my eyebrows 'to clean them a bit' -__- I like my natural brows, but I have been afraid to go and look for eyebrow products because I know I'll be told that 'I can't do makeup on unplucked eyebrows'. My 'problem' is having some sparse hair under the arch. Alexa's eyebrows are great, and she didn't get rid of the sparse hair to make them more defined. It's very rare to see that. So here I have the example I needed to convince people! XD I also liked the lipstick tip. I'll sure try that one since I'm not ready to use red lipstick yet ^^ Thank you for the video!

Her "I look dreadful" is probably true for her and what she is used to. We all have different skin. For me, she looks flawless! Because I have some darker blemishes on my very fair skin... her worst might be my "best" lol. Those brows... so pretty! they way they say "dewy" so cute! Use pure plant based oils to nourish your skin! I live in such a cold, dry place in the north and since switching to using grapeseed oil with rosehip and baobab seed oil, my skin never has issues with drab, dull dryness or oiliness, just some hormonal spots lol, and it's very glowy and dewy.
