Thanks profound as usual. What I love about your examples of Gospel chord progressions is that you have the option to play straigh ahead blues if you so want

Just discovered and subbed. You have a great and beautifully relaxed way of getting your point across and your content is on the money. And yeah, that SG is sweeet!

I was always intimidated by jazz improv soloing. But this lesson demonstrating the repeated use of the dom7 arpeggio finally clicked for me. Thank you!

Thanks Jack! Even the simplest you play (@6:50) seems to come down directly from Heaven! :)

I learned more about music after finding old country late in my life. Which naturally led to Ray Charles. Don’t sleep on old hymns either folks.

So true. Country gospel like Ray Charles is full of secondary dominant God chords. Radiohead stole from the best when they plagiarized the changes from Georgia On My Mind for Creep

Jack, any recommendations on books/courses to develop theory further?
@JackRuchКүн бұрын
The first course I did with Brett Papa called 'Player's Perspective' is all about harmony and theory. Also get yourself a decent 'intro to theory' book. Check out the Berklee books.

@ Thanks for the rec. I have your magic of triads course with Brett, and it’s great. I have a solid understanding of theory but will look into that course to fill in any gaps. Been linking to your videos for the past couple of years in my weekly newsletter. Love your lessons, thanks for all you do!
