I’ve just starting watching this series from the beginning and I love it so far. One thing though, maybe as a European you’re unaware, but the term “red Indian” is an incredibly offensive, racist term. Indigenous American or even American Indian (though that term is used less and less) would be the acceptable verbiage. I’m sure you didn’t mean to offend, but I think it’s important when people make these kinds of mistakes to let them know so they don’t make them in the future. Thanks for to continuous stream of content!

Had to do a double-take on that designer... thought the early photos were of Jim Morrison! That local shop Marie took you to is a treasure trove. Is every small town in France like that? Mind blowing... what's 'out there' for discovery; I wonder if people are getting weary of the overall 'sterile' look of modernity... There's a decent appetite for old stuff here in the US, and growing, as abandoned estates (New England, mostly) are being combed through. St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores are importing antique European furniture for their 'boutiques.' I'm intrigued by the antique Spanish furniture from the 16th century, found around Santa Fe, New Mexico, the oldest incorporated town in the US. Also, California has some amazing old architecture and furniture hidden away, to go along with a plethora of ancient pictographs from tribal folks in what is now So Cal. At one time, there were just over 100 different languages in that State. Dwellings of the Spanish 'elite' were built as square cloisters, so you'd walk through each room to complete the square, just like in European cloisters.

Goodness - that secondhand shop is amazing ! P.S. love the old gilding effect. As a child I remember my mum creating shabby chic pieces by painting them one colour, then going over it in white and sanding it off. Very cool. Would love to come to you on a workaway sometime, Stephanie. Very seriously considering it. And that bat is so so sweet... there are also many living next to where my father lives in SE England.

Stephanie does not have a dog. If it is the little black and white chihuahua- she belongs to Michael Petherick. Her name is Valentina or ti-ti for short. If you go to instagram @picturepetherick, there are stories and lots of photos of their dogs if you go back far enough.

no matter how good a painter you think you may be, mask, mask, mask ................ always mask off your work before you start it, most masking tape is about 4 in's wide, but you got very lucky and managed to stay within the lines, your kindergarden teacher would be very proud of you, lol.
