I love my 2018 PRS Custom 24. Its an amazing instrument and its been my 'dream' guitar since I saw my first one in the late 80's. Its taken me many years to be in a position to by the Core version and its worth the wait....

I moved house, I’m lucky to have a few guitars... the Custom 24 was the only one still in tune, they are bulletproof. Jack you are one great presenter and player. Nice job.

Great demo and beautifully presented Jack, I didn't know Alan & John owned an original '85 I'd love to see it but I can't come to the store without leaving with one of the semi-hollows!

Great interesting video and your playing is fantastic. Fortunate to have a 30th Anniversary and a P245, would love to see a review of the new Paul’s Guitar.

I believe position 2 and 4 are parallel outter coils and parallel inner coils respectively. Position 3 is series inner coils I think. Position 2 on the newer Custom 24's have full bridge and one coil of the neck HB.

I had an 87 jade green custom 24 and Also 1999 custom 24. Both were very nice but I prefer the mccarty 594 single cuts. The single cuts always sounded more open and like a Les paul light. Not heavy enough for me. That's a nice 85 there.

Anyone else not sure about the 85/15 TCI pickups? It might take some time playing with them but as of right now the 58/15LTs in my 594 artist with rosewood neck/ebony fret board is more my taste. Also the Metal pickups in my custom 24 floyd is more versatile to me. With the volume and tone adjustments the Metals are really great. I've only had the custom 24-08 for a few weeks now but I'm not sure how it fits in my collection. I guess I'm a P-90, classic gibson PAFs, fender tele, strat Poblano Anchos, and even black winters really do it for me. I'm thinking of switching pickups to Thornebuckers in the 24-08. I love the look and feel of PRS. I love the 594. I would put the metals in but then the Flyod and 24-08 would be too close in sound. Anyway just wondering if anyone else swapped out their 85/15 pickups and what they went with for what styles.

@Second Amendment I will. I'm starting to like them more now. Thanks

Lovely guitars until you damage the neck, as PRS do not replace necks, and only repair in the US.

Those 80's prs are much better in everything compared to the new versions, Paul and the company has gone into to much experiments. Your eq on the amp has to much mids, that why it sounds so bright. That's the problem that i have with people that play these prs with standard treble and bass pickups, they say that it's bright eq the amp and you'll see the difference in tone and the way It sounds, that led to prs discontinue these awesome pickups, a Big example are the phase 1 locking tuners, they stopped making them cause people didn't know how to use them.
