I love my Harley but am very glad to see Indian back. Didn't like the look of the Chieftain at first but it is really growing on me. Just happy to see more American bikes on the market.

I put about 40 miles on one last week. From 80 to parking lot crawls, it felt completely natural. If they don't change it too much, it will develop character (and accessories/aftermarket interest) very quickly. Whatever us present HD riders decide, the competition is good for all of motorcycling.

I'm a big guy too. It felt a bit cramped until I got moving. It quickly became very comfy; I also had a better feeling of control compared to the EG. I'm keeping my Fat Bob for Poker Runs, but I now want a Chieftain for Route 66.

I would like to thank The Indian Motorcycle Co.for taking our suggestion seriously about removing the tear light that came from the past failures of California Motor Works Gilroy Indian Divison. Now with it wiped from the slate Indian will move and never look back. Indian you are back and the future awaits long success. We expect no less than the best. My gf just purchased one. its a good bike for beginners or riders who want a light engine bike; however, Indian motorcycles are different class. It's big with powerful engine designed to go the distance. you can compare the new Indian to a touring bikes or big engine cruisers

I ride a Harley and I have owned import bikes prior to it. I love the fact that Polaris has taken over the Indian brand as competition is always good for the consumer. The problem Polaris has right now is locations. My nearest Indian dealer where I could get service is 150 miles away. The next closest one is New Jersey ( Indian dealer website) and I live in North Carolina. Until they can create a larger foothold in the market I believe Harley by sheer volume of dealerships will be more appealing

Not the first time, but, yes it looks good with the bags off. The Yamaha V Star and Stratoliner are the same way without the ease of removal along with most bikes that added bags after the sale. Heck the Yammers can have their fairings taken off and you'd never know it was a "Deluxe" model.

I guess only time will tell whether or not Polaris will be successful in raising and sustaining the Indian Motorcycle brand to the heights of it's former hey day. As a motorcyle rider/lover of all motorcycles the one thing I look for is support in the form of parts/service availability. I do all the work on my Harley and love that there is a bevy of aftermarket suppliers out there too for me to choose from. I Hope Polaris will have the same fortune with the Indian

After reading a bunch of the comments, I saw very few describing what you're suggesting. Most seem to welcome it and appreciate it. I do however see a large amount of Harley bashing. I have a Breakout and I see nothing wrong with Indian, Victory, or competition in general. In fact on one of the Harley forums I frequent the attitude is generally the same. Most like it and welcome the competition. Maybe you're just reaching a bit.

Once the bike establishes itself - which shouldn't take too long, you'll see dealers pop up all over the place. they may not be a numerous as Harley dealers (yet), but they should be about on a par with Victory or Triumph at the very least. It may not be a bad idea to consult with a local Victory dealer to see whether or not they're able and willing to pick up a franchise.

Sadly I think at some point Indian/Victory will receive that stigma as well. Sonny Barger (Hells Angel founder) rides a Victory Vision according to his Autobiography. I think most bikers in general unless you ride a crotch rocket are given the "stink eye" by the general public because most of your bike gangs ride Harleys and any type of bike similiar to that falls into that stigma.
@UncleFjester11 жыл бұрын
Trading in my StreetGlide as soon as I can. I ride a harley cuz I'm different, but there are too many Street glides and road glides, that I feel cloned. I mean real leather, and everything is already chromed saves me $5000 from the start.

Very nice for a first attempt, Polaris. IMO, the bags should slope forward slightly on the leading edge. A little too flat. Other than that, not too bad.

I don't think HD has anything to worry about. Market is saturated with HDs and wannabe biker tough boys driving them. I do however feel that Polaris is the company to bring this bike back. I'd certainly buy one. But I would change a few things. For one the front fender doesn't show enough of the wheel and the bags are way too round. The fairing has way too much chrome on it, kinda looks like a chrysler. This bike has real potential and I hope they do well.

However it is to small for me. Im ~2m tall and 100+kg so the electra glide is the harley for me if id get one. And I too are curious about them. Lol if I went to a dealer and they told me it was against there policy to let you test drive, Id respectivly reply "then I'll take my buisness elsewere" and never come back. Sounds like you spoke to a trainee or what you call them? Idk man, I think sports bikes take away that forever free feeling I love about riding a motorcycle. Ive ridden a few and all I wanna do is race it to its limits. Its not that proper mc feeling. But they shure are fun. I think the 883 is the only resonably priced HD.
