I have such a weakness for musician minis and that bard looks absolutely fabulous. I'm sure it'll be pricey but I also hope they release each kit solo
@ObscuritiesinMiniature Жыл бұрын
The bard kit has such a ridiculous number of music weapons available too(that also dispense smoke and smog). If prior armor kits are any indication, they can usually be found online for around 20- 30 dollars US, whereas the actual store prices were a bit more outside of Black Friday sales.

Thx for cool vid, can you comment on GCE survivor minis scale compared to core survivors armor kits? E.g. would bard male head look ok’ish if I give it to male Phoenix armor, etc? Would minis scale conflict in terms of esthetics?

Love it! Will you be doing a video of the assembled monster mini's too? :)

I might get around to building these in 2027.

The issue with KDM is scale creep. Compare the first survivors, and then new kits. Look like different games. I understand tooling improves etc etc but scale consistency isn't difficult.

They wanted the minis to be bigger and I think they are much better for painting. Shame for the previous models but a plus for the upcoming ones.
@lotterwinner647411 ай бұрын
Looks like the minis leveled up when put next to eachother. I picked up core and gamblers on the black friday sale. Looking at this video I am clearly over my head. Could you not use some sort of modeling clay so you can swap weapons and heads as you get different gear?

A lot of people use magnets, but that can be a bit daunting if you don't have a lot of experience drilling holes in tiny parts. You'll have so many figures to choose from with those two boxes alone, I wouldn't even worry about it. Grab the starting survivors and the first few monsters, worry about all the other goodies as time goes on if you're planning on playing. If you're like me and love building this stuff, I say screw it and just jump in and start building whatever looks cool. Eventually you'll get to use it!

So conquest minis and KDM minis versus the big arse monsters that can be found on KDM or can be printed out and have fun!

They can all team up on some of those ridiculously large Dragon Trappers Lodge monsters. Maybe once that Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting gets released I can do a full on table top monster hunting crawl campaign.

I magnetized the core set... and i feel like poots going the narrative route... just took the hours i put into his game and threw them out the window. Really sucks
@ObscuritiesinMiniature Жыл бұрын
I'm always impressed with people who put that dedication in to their core set. That's awesome! I don't think the narrative sculpts invalidate anything- most are just alternatives to what a lot of us already made out of the armor kits. The incompatibility of the new armor sets with the old is a bit of a bummer, but also a new opportunity to magnetize up a whole new crew of high end survivors, with even more ridiculously cool toys to play with. I'm sure there's dedicated fans out there already planning this!
@TheCrimsonfluf Жыл бұрын
@@ObscuritiesinMiniature I appreciate your positive outlook despite not sharing it. Until I can really get into my gamblers chest to see I'm holding out on hope. But if I need to do a lot of cutting and green mold to make them look decent and follow the previous route I'll have to just pass because I'm not very skilled with molding and green stuff. I tried cutting up a kingsman to get the same effect for the royal armor but it ultimately didn't turn out the best. I did hear that poots might release kits for the future expansions and sell them separate, so there is hope I suppose.
@JWar- Жыл бұрын
@@TheCrimsonfluf I magnetized most of the core set, and I think in hindsight the only thing really necessary was the hands and heads since I generally wear a whole armor set. It looks like with these narrative sculpts you can still magnetize the heats, and probably most of the hands. It seems where there is a forearm connected to a hand/weapon combo you can just cut the hand, glue the forearm to the model, and drill into the wrist to glue in the magnets as normal. There will be a bit less customization, but all is not lost.
@jediluke69 Жыл бұрын
Do the kits look like you could magnetize them?
@ObscuritiesinMiniature Жыл бұрын
Some parts, I imagine it can be done. Maybe at the shoulders or gauntlets on some people? I think it would be a case by case basis.
@Frele177 Жыл бұрын
Can you not magnetize ?
@ObscuritiesinMiniature Жыл бұрын
You can, but it will be a lot of work. It doesn't help that not all parts have uniform locations where they attach and some have very small areas to work with. That said it didn't stop people from magnetizing the original armor kits, and those had similarly small parts. I personally don't have the patience for it and already started painting them.
@Frele177 Жыл бұрын
@@ObscuritiesinMiniature I did it for the core game and it was fun. From what you tell me and what I've seen, it seems that for the GC it is not applicable at all . Too bad about all those variations.

I hate to say it, but this probably hurts the chance I'll invest into KDM. Consistency of scale is pretty important to me in minis. If I notice things wildly out of kilter it annoys me to an unreasonable extent. I would've preferred a smaller, consistent scale. I bought Echoes of Death 4, but as display minis since I don't actually own the game, so it doesn't bother me as much. I hope they revisit the prior survivor releases and increase the scale or something, otherwise the difference in scale is just going to prevent me from enjoying the game.
@christianbay7614 Жыл бұрын
Really, really hate the size increase for the miniatures, the new and old models looks to be from different games when placed next to each other. No consistency.
@ObscuritiesinMiniature Жыл бұрын
At least if you're using only newer ones it looks consistent. My KDM models have long fulfilled more roles in other games than they have in their actual home environment- some of the sets I have yet to even build yet in the game, but kits like the lantern armor have seen extensive use in various skirmish games!
