A Cobweb Hybrid to Include 80M (

Andrew, WY1DHO, has a question why does the cobweb not have 80m? He also saids that the DX commander vertical and a EFHW with a coil that gets 80m, but why not the cobweb? Watch to Learn more on why most cobwebs don't have 80m.

so why not take an endfed antenna then you will get rid of all these wires and it will be easier to tune and you can get coverage from 80/40 to 10 metres

AWK, a polish fella, Pawel makes the best Cobweb on the market. Quiet and DX is phenomenal. Puts MFJ to shame.

The Cobweb antenna is an antenna that I always wanted to try. Am a bit concerned about the ice storms we receive, but probably will spring back up after the ice melts; similar to my EFHW.

80m moxons work well

While a horizontal loop is 3Db less than a bidirectional halfwave dipole, it is omnidirectional, as are horizontal V's or U's (ramshorn). For 80 and 160, a remote antenna tuner and as much wire as you can deploy, is the simple solution if you don't have space.

Thank you, Dave. So, 1/2 wave is 132 feet for 80M. That would be 33 feet on a side. That might fit in my yard. Thanks. N0QFT

Sorry to say that 73Antennas does not appear to be in business. After repeated attempts via their website I have not been able to raise them by email so I must assume they are no longer taking orders. Does anyone know otherwise?
