A reminder to those of you with abusive partners who are thinking of giving them another chance; don't. Once they've put their hands on you and proven that they can treat you horribly, they won't change. No amount of love or chances will make them see the wrong in their actions and it's better to get out before you end up dead. They will not change for you.
@littlebear2744 ай бұрын
This is especially true if they ever choke you, incidentally. It's an incredibly strong indicator - an abusive partner who chokes their victim is *seven times* more likely to end up killing them. Never, ever give someone another chance if they've done that, the risk is just too high.

Mike seemingly had no motive for killing the second couple. Serial killers who arrange to murder their girlfriends generally don't target strangers like that, rather they move on to killing another girlfriend. It makes more sense to think that both couples were victims of a serial killer in that area. It's possible that he just happened to be abusive and never acted on his threats to her life, but it's also possible that Diana's family wanted to believe that Mike was responsible so they could have closure, and so they presented the authorities with that information inaccurately.

Most serial killers DO NOT know their victims! Gacy, Bundy, Dahmer just to name a few met their victims on the streets and had no knowledge of who they were before meeting and killing them. my first thought was that mike had been having an affair with the woman from the other couple and decided to kill them both when the husband found out, then did a murder-suicide later. as for how the kid survived, he could've just left her by the side of the road and she got insanely lucky. but of course we don't have enough info to say anything definitively; that just seemed to be the simplest explanation to me based on what was presented.

Regarding the first case, punctuation matters. The narrator said “I love you Diana” but the envelope said “I love you, Diana”. The first phrase would come from another person where the second phrase would come from Diana
@TheArtistInTheDark4 ай бұрын
It is grammatically correct to put a comma in front of a name when addressing that person, so the first case will have a comma.

Yeah, when addressing a person you put a comma before, and same when completing a formal letter you would end it I love you comma Diana if from Diana. But it wasn’t a letter from Diana that was found.

Sorry I hate being like this but you don't have to remember trauma for it to cause lifelong physical damage. It doesn't matter if you remember it or not. The thing that actually protects kids from the consequences of trauma is having safe relationships with safe adults who view the kids positively no matter what. The changes from trauma that cause harm do not require you to remember anything. It changes the way your body works
@no_peace4 ай бұрын
The only reasons I'm saying anything are 1) people think they can do anything and it doesn't matter bc the person won't remember 2) people need to know they can protect kids from the lifelong effects of trauma Adverse childhood events correlate with issues like cancer and diabetes

Story 2: if memory serves me, didn’t the son end up living in the attic in their house? Wasn’t he still in the attic while police were conducting their initial search on the home? I’m surprised Scary Interesting didn’t mention that fact and chose to go with the more sensationalized conspiracy theories. Personally, I think the fact that the son was still there, living in the house with his deceased parents’ bodies, says a lot more about his character. But, maybe that’s just me.

Just for the record I think you're misinformed about the Ambrogio story. A lot of the details seemed pretty anachronistic and ahistorical when compared with other greek myths and I did some research- seems like it's a more modern folk legend that tries to pass itself off as being ancient greek mythology. It's a cool story but many of the vampiric traits it exists to explain weren't even standard vampire lore until Bram Stoker 😂 If you're looking for legit vampiric creatures dating to that region and era, look for the empousa. Otherwise I think the best folkloric ancestor to the modern vampire is the striga from slavic regions
@cthonisprincess40114 ай бұрын
Yeah, the Ambrogio story isn't a tale from antiquity; it originates from author Mike Belmont and is published on his website gods-and-monsters. Wayback has taken regular snapshots of the story starting in 2010. It's evident that the story is a fake myth to anyone remotely familiar with Greek Mythology, which did have vampiric legends, but none anything like what was described in this so-called legend. It has all the hallmarks of modern vampire lore- being burned by sunlight, vulnerable to silver, Ambrogio being a Tragic Vampiric Pretty Boy, and hiding in coffins. One example of ancient Greek vampiric legends appears in the Odyssey, wherein the titular character has to bring an animal sacrifice into the Underworld, as the dead cannot communicate with the living without consuming blood first.

Thank you! Literally came to the comments hoping someone brought this up. Bram stoker literally invented what we call the vampire. Yes there are countless older monsters who drink blood, and are undead. But the similarities stop there. I love vampires, but they truly are a relatively modern monster. And it drives me crazy when people try to claim it’s an ancient legend told around the world.
@sudanemamimikiki15273 ай бұрын
@@thematicbattlemusic7538 yes and no and absolutely not. bram stoker didnt create vampires. lord byron wrote the first draft of a vampire story, and then john polidori took the draft and created the first vampire story in the early 19th century. as for vampires in folklore, that is harder to determine. the word itself has iffy origins and some historians think it might date back to middle ages or even further. but the first documented case of vampires(vampirs, or upirs) in history was in the early 18th century. so most likely the vampire myth is around 400 to 500 years old. its also not a worldwide legend..like yes, blood sucking monsters appear in most everywhere on the globe. but the similarities usually end there.

The second case is similar to the Barry Bishop case from the early 70s. He was a multilingual CIA agent as well and killed his entire family in Bethesda MD and just disappeared after that. There's been a few supposed sightings over the years but he was never caught. I grew up about a mile from the house where it happened and we used to go up there ( the house was at the top of a hill in a court ) and creep each other out with scary stories. My buddy even went to school with his kids. RIP Bishop family 🙏
