Fate is defined as the development of events beyond a person's control. In this video, we’re going to go over three cases of extremely strange behaviour shortly before someone’s passing. Each of these cases remains open to this day, and after all of the evidence, which is extensive, are still a mystery. As always, viewer discretion is advised. This is part 29

I have a theory about the first case. I think somewhere he had a family, and had life insurance. In nearly all cases, it won’t pay out if you are killed by cancer. Once he was diagnosed, he quickly changed doctors, didn’t see any other specialist or get medication (So as not to leave a “trail”). He then went VERY far away and died anonymously, while his family reported him “missing” and eventually declared him dead. At which time the insurance company would pay out. Only thing that makes sense to me.

As I understand, insurance companies want to be able to pin a name to a body before they pay up. I mean, couldn't the family otherwise just hide the living guy and collect?
@JasonMcCord-qk3yb
@JasonMcCord-qk3yb 5 ай бұрын
@@kirahviofficial5761 That’s happened before, but there are times when there just simply isn’t a body. In those times, after a certain amount of time a person can be “Declared dead”. At which point the insurance companies have to pay out. Of course, if the person re-surfaces, as has happened in a few cases, the insurance companies will demand their money back.

My initial hypothesis was that he was some sort of spy. Placing the bags in trash bins outside of camera view seems more like dead drops. Plus his clothing having all tags removed. The other factors as well, but your hypothesis would also cover those (fake name at hotel), etc. I also wonder if he was not in fact Germanic. If he had been say a Russian spy, he may have learned English in East Berlin and so would have spoken it with a German accent. Accents can be misleading, it's all about who taught you the language, not necessarily where you grew up.

One weird thing about Jonathan Luna was that for most of the tolls he used his easy pass. But at least once he paid with cash and the toll ticket had blood on it. A lot of the blood was in the back seat, suggesting someone else was driving and he and another assailant were in the back seat. As far as the withdrawn cash, maybe he did it as a peace offering and the killer basically said they didn’t want his money-they wanted his life-and threw it around the car.

On the third story, having known people to have mental breaks, the 3rd one has all the hallmarks. His age, history with drug use, paranoia, erratic behavior, etc. all align with paranoid schizophrenia. It would entirely explain his erratic behavior leading up to his demise. It's not uncommon for people having an episode like that to be combative and so it would seem likely that had just bumped into the wrong person/people. He may have even instigated the situation and they finished it. As they weren't "out" to get him, they didn't rob him or pursue things any farther but simply fled the scene to avoid getting caught. It's still a tragic yet intriguing story worth covering, but I suspect his fate was rooted in mental illness and a bad encounter. Another such story is the fate of Elsa Lam at the Cecil hotel. Her death was initially comparably suspicious, but in that case her mental health was better understood and that's how it was ultimately able to be solved. Mental health isn't something to joke about. If you or someone you know is struggling, get help.

Elisa Lam wasn't really a mystery so much as people wanted to make something out of nothing. This story, i believe he was in fear and running and it just presents itself as mental illness. Regarding Peter's story, the idea that he couldn't have known when he was going to die doesn't hold much weight as a counterpoint, in my opinion (5:50.) It's been fairly well documented in human medicine that terminally ill people have a good understanding of when their time is coming to an end, and most people who have had family die from terminal illness have stories about the way their loved ones seemed to almost wait for specific points in time to die (i.e., waiting for a certain person to leave or enter the room, waiting for a specific day, etc.) He mostly likely felt that his time on Earth was coming to an end, so he went to a place he may have had past connections to and felt at peace in. Heart attacks can have extensive lead ups to death, so it's not a stretch to believe that he sensed it coming on and decided to take a walk on the beach and let his last view be that of something serene and not the ceiling of a motel. ETA: As I saw someone else mention, he could have been trying to drown himself, but the shock of cold water on his unhealthy body sent him into cardiac arrest.

It’s interesting you say that about loved ones dying because we went through something similar with my grandmother. She was in the hospital and the doctors told us that given what was going on, she wouldn’t last much longer. Said it would be about a week or two. once this news was given, being a very religious woman, she wanted her last rights. They brought in the hospital priest, but she requested the one at the church that she would go to. After he got there, we all walked out of the room, and she passed right when everyone was gone. It was unexpected, because as the doctors had said, her organs would first shut down, which would take a week or two, and then she would pass. She was ready to go

That first one always breaks my heart because I'm sure this man had no friends or family to count on, or perhaps he didn't want to be a burden to anyone in his last days. I feel as if he knew he was going to die and he thought of doing it swiftly and without lingering through medication, just going somewhere and disappearing where doctors and etc. could not find him. I think he truly wanted to disappear without a trace and go on his own terms and maybe he htought he could disappear into the ocean and just die, but the water brought him back into shore. I feel as if everything was well planned, almost like a suicide, but the heart attack took him first - maybe out of fear or shock or who knows what. Very sad, all of the stories.

@@LoralanthalasMike young tells the real story on dive talk of the blue hole and ballen had most of it wrong too. Granted, I'd say at the rate ballen put out videos early on I'd imagine his research was mostly surface level. I can't hate on him for that however, because others do it too. For example, Jacobs well, there's been known 7 chambers (possibly 8), not 4, since 1984. It's not even past the second page of Google results to find the Texas Speleological report about it. I've brought this up on countless videos with the report link but no one really cares. Then the Jacobs well exploration team fully mapped it a few years back beyond the 4th as well. I got hooked on his cave stories but most are unintentionally (I'm sure) filled with mostly inaccurate information and at that point I'd say you've beyond blurred the lines of fact vs fiction. I can’t help but think that the last guy was indeed running from something. Whether it was an actual threat or just his paranoia is unknown. But it’s possible that his death isn’t connected. He was acting more and more worrisome, so he might have just gotten into an altercation with someone totally unrelated to his issue. That individual unfortunately might have been very unhinged.

That is actually a totally different case that you are referring to. The case you are talking about, was another German man, who was also a musician. He did indeed tell his brother that he was moving to Ireland and not to contact him. He was later found deceased near ( I hope I am getting this right, as an American ) Loch Inagh in Ireland, and couldn't be identified at first. He was eventually identified and his last name was Schmitz or Schmidt. His brother was found in Germany and he helped identify him and also told the authorities about his brothers life and why his brother chose to move to Ireland. The guy in the above video, was a totally different German man, known now as Peter Bergmann. His family has never been identified and they have never come forward to claim him, apparently. Peter Bergmann is still somewhat of a sad mystery, though fortunately, the other German man that you were referring to, was indeed identified and his family has claimed him, though he was buried on some island off the coast of Ireland. I forgot what the island is named, but Mr Schmitz's family wants him to stay there as it is such a beautiful place. I recently watched an Irish show about unidentified people in Ireland, and that episode was about Mr Schmitz and his case, and that is where I got all my information. Have a great day and evening and I hope I have been somewhat helpful!

Blair’s case is PAINFULLY OBVIOUS that he was in psychosis. His mother is in denial and her very denial and lack of action to get him a diagnosis or any help is part of why he’s deceased. She’s a fool. The fact that he was becoming unresponsive and zoning out like he was in the hotel lobby implies he was going catatonic. When that happens the persons body heats up and that’s why many people in psychosis strip themselves, not because they’re a pervert but because their body is literally overheating. That is probably why his pants were off. That may have also been why he was attacked. If he approached someone or a group of people with his pants off, rambling and incoherent and possibly violent, that could be why he was killed. I definitely know someone that suffers with schizophrenia that was attacked at a gas station and his leg was busted so bad he had to get pins stuck in, but it was because he had approached someone in the midst of psychosis, and he has violent tendencies when he’s in that state. It was not an unprovoked attack. It very well may not have been unprovoked in Blair’s case, either. Still murder, but the person or persons involved may have reacted because HE approached THEM in the parking lot. The prostitution suggestion is just…ludicrous at best.

If he was killed by pissing off some lowlifes who just happened to be around, why wouldn't they loot his corpse? His mother's account suggests that he wasn't in psychosis either, though maybe she's using mom goggles, and it does seem like there were mental issues on the surface, to me.

Love these videos. Always great content, and I think the majority of us look ever so forward, and with baited breath, for the next video in this collection of Horrible Fates! Blair's case is definitely still a mystery, imho. He either lost his life by a German drug cartel, or by a random person, who likely knew nothing of Blair's past. The fact that whomever it was, did not take Blair's money, or the gold bars and jewellery that he had in his fanny pack, which ended up strewn all over the parking lot in Knoxville, where he was found, is also a mystery. Also, the fact that Blair was SA'd by his murderer, is a real mystery too. I am fairly sure he was SA'd and I seem to remember reading about it somewhere else. Why would someone do that? That seems very personal. What really happened to Blair that night in Knoxville, Tennessee? Who took his life and for why? Certainly a bizarre case, and one that still needs to be solved. Thank you for another excellent video!

This armchair detective has deduced, as many of you have, that Blair got himself in trouble with organized criminals in Germany. Most likely over drugs. Knowing he was going to die for certain if he stayed in Germany, he cross~crossed his trail in an unsuccessful attempt to impede (tragically delay) his lamentably fate. That’s why he didn’t want to get his family involved. I also believe that his GF in Germany knows whaaaaay more than she’s letting on. She’s afraid of the bad guys too! 🥺 It’s a case of Occam ‘s Razor. the simplest explanation is preferable to one that is more complex.
@JohnPepp
@JohnPepp 5 ай бұрын
It's illogical to think they would simply leave all the money there and isn't logical for organized criminals from Germany use all that effort to track him down. Why leave all that money? You would think the criminals coming all the way from Germany would had taken the money? It sounds to me that Blair was Bipolar or had some other mental illness. Being beaten doesn't sound very professional to me unless they wanted some info from him by torturing him? Though I think they would had made sure to dispose of the body better if that was the case. My guess is the Step-father had something to do with the murder. He was probably tired of Blair's shenanigans or blame him for the rift (if there was one) with his wife (Blair's mother). Knowing Blair was acting weird because of his paranoia hired a bunch of two bit amateurs or people who were professionals to make it look like someone was after him all the way from Germany.
@cortrichards8179
@cortrichards8179 5 ай бұрын
I believe you are correct. I cannot think of any other logical explanation for his actions and the only thing that really makes any sense is that Blair did indeed incur the wrath of organised criminals in Germany, as you stated. He must have owed them big time, or his murder was for some other reason that we are not aware of. I also think you are correct in deducing that his GF knows more than she is letting on. She is probably terrified and for good reason, as you also stated. Blair's poor mother, I really feel for her. She probably had no clue it was this convoluted, since Blair refused to tell her what was going on. It is pretty amazing that either the organised criminals in Germany followed him, from British Columbia to Washington DC, and eventually Knoxville, Tennessee, where they caught up with him and took his life. Or, his life was taken by some random person for some random reason that we are not aware of either. The part that gets me, is that he was also assaulted in a rather sexual manner. Why would the criminals from Germany do that to him too? That makes me think that he really might have been killed by someone else, rather than the German criminals. That, or the German criminals had other issues with Blair besides the drugs, and SA'd him for another reason we are not aware of! It is definitely still a mystery, imho. A very bizarre case in so many respects.

Tests have to be done, and some tests aren't done. Therefore done incorrectly. They can assume heart attacks after death due to stress onto muscle. There was no evidence of damage. Drugs have to be tested correctly. Some are more natural in the body than others. Your body has time to filter, and during that filter, he didn't die. It's after the filter has taken place. After your body used it in the liver and kidneys. No cellular function after death is a bold claim when bacteria still thrives. How do you think anaerobic bacteria works? Functions of cells work, just not the cells you want. Peasant. Many cases of toxicology reports either doing it too late, or the incorrect tests for type of chemical compound. Reading is pronounced Redding, just to be confusing. In the second story, his roundabout route may be explained by Google Maps. Leaving Philadelphia last spring, it took me all the way down to Delaware and back to reach a rural address SW of Philadelphia, apparently to avoid traffic. I haven't lived there in 30 years, so i just let if give me a tour. As far as I can remember, there isn't a direct route north between his offuce and Reading, or at least not an interstate or toll roads, That area used to be a confusing maze of winding country roads with blind intersections, no shoulders, no lights, and forested banks that as my gf put it "squirt deer." . Maybe he chose or was directed to go by major numbered routes. not that that explains the rest of it.

Hi my comment didnt post maybe cause i included a link but for those who would like to listen to some first hand interviews related to Peter Bergmann including with the man who performed the autopsy and the taxi driver, i recommend everyone check out the podcast "Atlantic" by the Irish newspaper The Irish Times. Obviously Scary Interesting only had a few minutes to scratch the surface but there is so much more underneath to learn! And yes it's pronounced SLY-go 😅😅 100% the strangest disappearance in Irish history and still amazing no one from Germany or Austria has come forward to say they know him, nor has his DNA ever matched with any German or Austrian missing persons!

How has the hair found with Blair never been matched to ANYONE? Genetic genealogy surely holds the answer to who murdered him, even if not the WHY…. 🧐

The how is many or even most people do not have their dna in a searchable database. There are two ways to get you DNA into a database: be compelled to give a sample in a criminal investigation or voluntarily give it for a genealogy test. Also worth noting, hair itself does not have DNA. Hair sometimes sheds with skin cells or roots that contain dna but not always. Absent dna there is no way to definitively match two hairs as from the same person.

People really don't understand how difficult disappearing is, almost every we do nowadays can be traced so it's really bizarre to me that 600.000 people go missing anually.

It really isn't that hard, honestly. Some minor modifications to a hat and you're hidden from most security cameras- turn off or get rid of your phone and get a burner, and pay for stuff in cash only. Alternatively, drop off the face of the earth and go off grid, *or* move entire countries and do the same thing. It's one thing to swap cities or states but an entire country is a new beast entirely.

I tend to disagree. First thing is having no cell or other electronic device. Being homeless and wearing tattered clothes that cover your face, or wearing a mask which is not considered strange, though banks and other places forbid you entry because of it. Having no ID you can make up any name. There are people who will sell you a fake ID,(illegals do this) though that is difficult now because official IDs have special characters which can be picked up by scanning devices. Criminals, illegals, etc travelled via Greyhound which had minimal requirements to travel. Hitchhiking was another way of getting to and fro without money or via legit means(airplane, train). Lots of strange "disappearances." A CT husband, father disappeared, 10 years later he was found in NY. He just started over with a new name, cops said he died of natural causes. He sure didn't go too far to get away from his old life.
