According to Marx's theory the collapse of capitalism is caused by the rich 'stealing' the wealth of the poor, making the poor poorer and grow in number, while the rich get richer and shrink in number. Until the vast majority of people in society have 'nothing to lose but their chains', which is when they take over the capitalist monopolies and run them without money or profit. Giving money to the poor actually prevents the revolution from happening if you go by what Marx thought.

I would further argue that the exploitation of the working class by the rich is not caused by any failure with capitalism, but by failures in democracy (or whatever legal system surrounds capitalism). For example in the U.S. we have anti-trust laws that-if enforced-would ensure that capitalism stays competitive. It would surely be harder for the rich to continue exploiting the working class if every market had genuine competition.
