I just didn't like how the story felt like it was stretched all over the place. When i played this game i played through the Vvvardenfell storyline and i felt like Clavicus Vile would never be a big bad evil guy in a major storyline like that, bro just wants to do his real free estate scams but here he goes trying to nuke Vvvardenfell and thus losing lots of potential worshippers and scam victims. Also i haven't played the questline involving Nocturnal trying to invade Nirn or something, but i also find that to be kind of hard to swallow that Nocturnal would do something like that.
@MLPDethDealr323 ай бұрын
Both of those are the reasons i also refuse to deem it canon. In Skyrim, thanks to mods, my character is a vampire that works as an enforcer of sorts for CLAVICUS. Some cheats him on a deal or pact, he sends my vamp after them.

It’s such a shame. I’ve played Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim (everyone has played Skyrim lmao). I tried ESO when Tamriel Unlimited came out, and I was shocked at how little it felt like an elder scrolls game. There wasn’t that “seeing a ruin off in the distance and then encountering 10 different places/random encounters on your way to it”. It felt like a theme park, for lacking a better way to put it.

A nice concept that would be fun but break the lore, Time travel, you head to the future to fight the Neravarine(put him in exile for the supposed disappearance of Vivic and causing the meteor to fall and cause the eruption, Champion of Cyrodil(after mantling sheo, he needs put away in his realm, and the last dragon born (for either being a vampire lord or being herma champion who he has "plans with". Since they are player characters they should have random abilities or be a warrior thief mage werewolf(maybe werebear for tldb) vampire. Could be specific could be mixed. And of course it would be a trail because the vestige may be strong but not that (ikik all the feats of vestige is probably higher with all those dlc content added) -tired and not worried about spelling rn

I have enough experience with single player games and with MMOs to know that if you love a single player game franchise you should generally avoid an MMO version like the plague. Balancing for teams and PVP always makes the PVE game unrecognizable from single player anyway. Also I don't generally like mixed PvP-PvE. I enjoyed it in some of the early generation MMOs but today's players would literally die if they experienced how "real" the internet was back then. My favorite comment from back then is from a guy I had just pkd telling me he hoped my mother would get cancer.

Do you know who Andrew Young is? He's one of the people who wrote lore for ESO and the expansions, and they all HATE how Zenimax turns it into generic garbage? The lore about Dagon in Blackwood is amazing, but in gameplay he is generic moustache-twirling villain of the week nr.16849. From what I've heard on Reddit, he allegedly "did a rant about how the editors turn a lot of their writing into some generic stuff, or how he needed to personally threaten the directors that he will quit if they don't let him do the solemn dialogue with Sotha Sil in Clockwork City instead of the usual "ewok party" we always get at the end of the DLC". So he fought tooth and nail to give us one of the best conversations in the history of the franchise. What do you think, boss? Could you see this actually happening? 🤔
@cotho.19 күн бұрын
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, seriously. I was aware of him, but I didn't know he got fired. This is the biggest "L" I can imagine for eso story writing. He wrote "the nine coruscation" and yes the story you mentioned about him putting his foot down to get the Sotha Sil monologue at the end of Clockwork city is true. Right now my focus is 100% on Nehrim since it is the biggest mod ever made for oblivion and I felt like I had to do it justice, but when I am done (in about 3-4 weeks if we are lucky), ama gonna have to talk about this. To answer your question: I think the developers value quantity over quality. This attracts people who don't care about quality, which is the player base they are currently stack with. None of the big elder scrolls KZbinrs talked about Ithelia, no one cares about any of the stories of the dungeon and players who buy the expansions and DLC only buy them for the new systems and meta gear. With all that said, why would anyone invest into storytelling? Of course they are also careless and ignorant, which only leaves eso worse off. Thanks again for telling me about this!

To that final question, to me, TES is the lore and the potential your characters have within it. It started as a tabletop setting, it should continue honoring that superior origin. A linear story is great, especially in a detailed/dynamic sandbox. TES since Oblivion is trite rubbish, for the most part. I love what's called "generic" fantasy, that's just European. I like when it puts an original spin on itself, as TES did initially. Now, we can count on the same tired ideas being reused. As for ESO, people play and pay for it. That's all needs be said. It's making boatloads of money, even if people complain. And, TES will continue ever downwards due to how consumers have tolerated increasingly boring, general, simplistic stories and effort. Let them call canon whatever they want. I trust in my imagination, not some pasty effeminate doughboy's. Ofc, this is in relation to TES as a worldscape. ESO has fun gameplay, but then, so does basically every single MMO. I don't particularly play TES for gameplay, or graphics. I don't finish reading a book because of its cover.

I have to disagree with the issue you brought up with item sets and housing. Short version of it, no they're not nerfing old sets so you buy the new expansion that has busted sets. Pillar of Nirn has been one of the best sets in this game for years, same with aegis caller coral riptide, whirl of the depths, and more. Mother's sorrow is a treat magika DPS set and it's base game. And when it comes to housing, you can have some amazing houses just from using gold items. You don't need any crown furnishings for that, let's be honest. The rest of the stuff about the crown store and how it's shitty I do completely agree with. I have 4k hours in this game, so I love playing it, but the game would be so much better with more in-game rewards and less cash shop items, that I can 100% agree with.

In defense of Tales of Tribute, not all card games are of the Trading or Collectible nature. I personally don't really like it when trading card games are in my fantasy games. There are a lot of inventions, both cultural and technological, that would need to exist in those worlds before a trading card game can be lucrative and regulated. It feels like a "twitter OC" moment to me because the world starts seeming like a fan-fictionalized version of itself. So I'd much rather a game within a game not be a whole separate game, but rather an extension of the culture being portrayed. I know the devs probably did not do it that way for this reason -- the lore for the game being shaky is evidence enough for me -- but I like the result nonetheless.

I've been playing ESO for 5 years. I still don't like the combat. If there's one thing that has kept a lot of my friends away from the game it actually is the combat not the crown store. Light attack and heavy attack weaving should not be a thing. I would like to see that system replaced with something else that is also engaging / challenging, but doesn't take away from the immersion and fluidity of the combat visuals. The animation canceling as a result of light attack and heavy attack weaving just makes your character look like he's tweaking the f*** out. It's stupid and it should not be the standard in an MMO.

The intro is why i refuse to deem ESO canon. The unreliable narrator was an excuse cooked up to get out of critising the stupidity of Emil Pagliarulo. We had consistent events between Arena , Daggerfall, and Battlespire. They could have done something with that and a game connecting to Shadowkey. Nope, We get a f*cking MMO that im sure most of us hate with a passion. As soon as im done remodding Skyrim, im reinstalling Arena and Oblivion. The only 2 missing from my Steam collection are Daggerfall and Battlespire. Im still waiting for someone to recreate in Skyrim's Engine. We have Daggerfalls Mainquest thanks to the Skygerfall mod.

The concept of ESO just doesn't sit with me. I mean, imagine you're in charge of a video game company. You have a successful IP the most popular game of which is still alive and well fuck knows how many years after release mainly (if not solely) thanks to its modding scene. And you decide that an MMO is the way to go? Also, Cotho, you're the Bard from Vigilant. Just as he couldn't come to terms with what he's done, you can't come to terms with missing Belharza.
