You all have been asking for it, and finally 2 months after Lidia's release I have been able to make a full beginner's guide on Lidia. I hope all of you who are new with the character can get some help through this video. If you have any questions not addressed in this video, please leave them in the comments or feel free to ask when I'm live at twitch.tv/sesujin, and I will do my best to respond as fast as I can. One small thing I forgot to mention in the video is in regards to HAE stance. If the opponent is sidestepping, HAE 1+2 (the unblockable) effectively works as a homing move, so use that to catch opponents sidestepping. The HAE 1 (armored launcher) also tracks the oppoent if you delay the move, so that can also be very effective against opponents who are sidewalking or sidestepping into a move.

I’m like 2 min in video and thought this was an older video like a month old. Just now looked and suprised to see this was released about 2 hours ago when I first searched this up. Talk about convenience

For anyone new to fighting game inputs, QCF inputs will still be accepted by the game is you start at half circle180 degree rather than 90 degree) instead. For me at least, i have an easier time buffering that extra 90 degrees. The animation might not always give you that extra time window, but it helps with building that muscle memory. Incredible guide, btw!

I remember I played against you with Nina and lost the set 2-1, I had no idea how to handle Lidia after you adapted to me. I remember you were very solid, thanks for the upload. And I hope you didn't talk too much crap about me on stream 😅 haha.

Thank you, and ggs! Don't worry, I don't talk shit about people, we're all just trying to have fun!

And here I've been trying to play Lidia without knowing the value of Political Storm. Well this definitely is gonna up my game lol

Another thing I don’t really see Lidia players talk about too much, that you can implement in your game, is the stance cancels. Imo theyre amazing b/c she creates the space she needs for her pokes, sabakis, and keep out strings to hit Once you get that rhythm going all of a sudden the lows start hitting as well

Decided to go all in with tekken cuz i was at a friends house we had a party night I sucked had to use that ez mode input thing. Took that off practiced a lot started with shaheen (mistake) and when lidia finally showed up i grabbed her and fell in love. needing to learn about everything with her and im getting stuff down but im relying on knowledge checks a lot of people at my rank dont get heaven into 1+2 and i almost always get them. Im trying to move away from that and use fundamentals an positioning etc. this video is a god send i want to be good at her and not just press buttons to confuse the enemy. thanks for putting in the time and explaining shit its really helpful :)

Thanks mate for your Video! I allways wanted to play Lidia, but i was afraid of her exeuction checks. With your guide i think getting Tekken King (pr as typical Fujin scrub) should be achivable! You did great job and still wating for more

Thank you! Good luck getting to Tekken King!

Really appreciate this video. I hope one day you can make a video regarding matchups (I personally struggle with the neutral against yoshis and xiaoyu). Thanks a lot!

This is something that a lot of people have asked, I'm planning on recording some videos on this topic soon.

I’ve always liked doing stance cancels with lidia since tekken 7 because they give her the space she needs to create openings to catch ppl pressing or whiffing It also sets up the parries & sabakis nicely I consider it optimal play too since most of the stance transitions she has in this game seem very interruptible & have too much counter play to them
@MarcosDanteGellarАй бұрын
thanks sesujin. you know i started making a critique of your channel but always marking the hugue potential this channel had and has . i didnt have the time to play tekken 8 recently, but im glad you published this because i wanted lidia to get to a more or less consistent state, in case a patch came into some urgency because they made have made a huge mistake. anyways, im gonna have this as a full guide for lidia as my first and main guide. something i dont like about this new lidia (i mained her in T7) are the instances. they also have been suffered the wattering down from tekken 8. and i miss a lot of things about the old lidia but hey, new toy right? we just need to play with it. im gonna watch your heihachi guide once the old man makes his appearanca. Cheers Sesujin

Thank you! I completely understand preferring T7 Lidia over T8. A lot of people have told me something similar, and it is a shame that there are aspects of T7 Lidia missing from T8. Personally, I prefer the overall character in T8, but I wish they did a better job at including the other aspects of T7 Lidia. I wish that everyone can enjoy playing her as much as I do.

Random question, but is there a special reason why we get to wolf stance through CAT stance [b+3+4,f,2] in the 3,2 combo instead of HRS [f+3+4,f,2]? Eyeballing (which obviously means nothing), the HRS transition looks faster. It's also just a little easier to execute, because you can just press forward and hold for the duration of the stance transition. Please let me know if I'm just being an idiot. Thanks as well for your amazing videos. Soz I haven't been in the stream. I've had a hell of a month lol.
@sesujinАй бұрын
Sorry, I should have mentioned this in the video, but from what I've been told there's no difference in the transition between CAT and HRS, so you can do whatever is more confortable for you. Also don't worry about not stopping by the streams, there's no need to be sorry. I hope you're doing well.

For me, the Wolf 2 was a bread 'n butter pickup in T7, and her stances worked differently (b3+4 -> f went into Wlf stance, f3+4 -> f went into H&E). Since either will accomplish the goal, just do whatever is easier.

Yeah, I can't believe these guys that are clearly inflating their video for the mid-roll ad revenue (I don't have monitization on KZbin)
