Very good, you got a lot of things only a veteran of the mode would see. You missed one thing that I think is important to note: When it comes to coastal ships, 1.0-2.0 is coastal only. You won't see any destroyers, nor any uptiers, and you'll always be on the smaller boat maps. However, starting at 2.3, you'll always be on a combined map where there will be at least 1 enemy bluewater ship. If you want to have some good coastal ships to use in bluewater matches, it might be worth grinding ranks 1 and 2 in your tree in the "coastal" matchmaker as there is no interference from larger ships.

I wouldn't say you always get uptiered at 2.3 to be honest. I still got downtiers quite often myself. In the video I noted that bluewater encounters become more frequent after reaching tier 3, but it's not a certainty. Regardless, I would agree that the lower tiers are indeed the best place to experience coastal battles. The higher tiers are mostly for grinding daily tasks if anything, lol

@@zetooken in my experience 2.3 gets max uptiered 100% of the time to get people playing reserve bluewater ships into games

I would add that using Hydroplanes is recommended to use with Low BR coastal, as you often have one distant cap point, where Bluewater ships go at higher BRs, that takes ages to get to in order to cap it and Hydroplane can get there and cap it much faster!

Ussr has like no hydroplanes the only ones are premium

I like how you don't recommend starting off with Britain for coastal because British ships were what initially got me into coastal. I don't have experience using other nations' ships but I will say using British ships against others up to 2.7(non-premium grind is still rough as always) hasn't been all that bad of an experience, especially if you use the Brantford which is a Corvette at 2.3 IIRC and an absurd displacement for a coastal ship at that BR of over 1000 tons.

The British definitely have their highlights, like the Brantford as you said. The same goes for Italy, for example their top tier patrol boat gets anti-ship missiles. It's just that neither of these nations are a great pick for newbies. If you keep at it and learn the mode however, you'll do well in pretty much any vessel.

I find being able to neuter an enemy boat with a burst of HE machine gun rounds hitting across the top and disabling most of their guns to be extremely effective. A quick switch to AP to finish the job follows, of course

Just wanted to add I have got a few kills with the naval artillery in lower tier coastal battles. Just have to be really lucky and ideally target small vessels

G'day, Huh you INAVY gents probably have the most NF CC's heh. Informative alright although I will say shrapnel shells do have a use, Only mainly as crude HE-DF shells that can shoot down aircraft or discourage them from continuing their attack runs (Noticeable seen with the Flower class Corvette, Isles class naval trawler, Project 2 SKR, Grey class Steam Gunboat). It's frustrating that the later ships have different DM's compared to similar ships in the other TT ntm how we can't research either TT anymore grrr but hey good to see someone else enjoying the Kaibōkan artillery barrage heh..

I just went to change the crew language and the option isn’t there???

Are you sure you didn't go in to the Controls menu instead? It's Options-->Sound-->Crew language, you should be able to see it, I just verified. Maybe you tried to change it while in a game? Try doing it from the hangar.

@@zetooken aha so I am in game now and I can change it like you show in this video. Next question is what are these options it gives me Auto: Game options: Crew country: Ok so crew country I know is obvious and makes the crew speak in the same language of the boats origin country. Auto says “when auto is selected ,crew language in arcade mode is determined by the interface language,and in other game modes ,the crew language is determined by the crew country. Soooo does this mean I want to be using the “game options” to have the crew speak English for every ship I use? I kind of assume that is what it means ?

If you want english for every ship, change it to game options, yes.
