I’m pretty sure the treaties during ww1 were basically the winner ripping apart the country, stuffing it in a milkshake, and setting it to obliterate

In reality, a treaty that simply erased Germany (splitting the country) completely was probably the only way to avoid another war, even if it would have been harder than for Austria since Germany was an ethno-state, albeit a young one. But the allies didn't agree thus those in the "middle" of the "harshness spectrum" achieved their aim (Britain), while the two extreme opposites didn't get what they wanted (harsh France and naively stupid USA). It was probably the worst outcome, since at least a naive and lenient treaty wouldn't have been used for propaganda later. And as I said a harsh treaty would have completely incapacited Germany, at least the problem would have been solved. But even if the Versailles we had was the worst one, never forget nazism was still the responsibility of the German people in that era, no one else. Rejecting responsibility would be a dangerous thing.
