After watching your entire video, the best way to describe this chapter is a mess. A bunch of things worked, a bunch didn’t. A bunch of things made sense, a bunch didn’t make sense. It would be peak the first minute, then exhausting the next and would just go back and forth. Its obvious during this entire chapter epic was trying to experiment/figure out what Fortnite should be and its future. With chapter 6 now on the horizon I think epic has figured that out. With the amount of gamemodes, collabs, and availability, they have turned this game into a multiversal playground for everyone to experience and enjoy and im all here for it.

As someone who played Chapter 2 originally, and played 80% of Chapter 2 Remix in zero build, I'm really surprised and confused to hear that it was a bad experience in zero build, I found port a forts so much and items like shockwaves and grapplers were SO common, it was really easy to get yourself in an advantageous position or run away from a bad fight. It also seems like this video was made before Catty Corner and Ice Isle were in, and I think those added so much to the season too. It was the most chaotic, fun, random, vibin' ass little mini season ever and I'm going to miss it so much. Genuinely one of my favorite loot pools ever, and easily still my favorite map ever. The quantity of bosses and having some of the most fun mythic guns ever was just such a treat. ALSO MEOWDAS IS GOATED.

In my opinion, Chapter 5 had the strongest themes out of any Fortnite chapter and also had the best cosmetics. Even though that doesn't directly translate to gameplay, I'd still argue that adds value. People buy the battle passes for a reason. But in terms of gameplay, it was really hit and miss. Underground felt like a chill season with a fantastic variety of items, Myths and Mortals only had 2 Greek weapons, only 1 of which was ever useful at any point, Wrecked was a bit dry and then Absolute Doom absolutely DRENCHED the game in ridiculous weapons, especially by the time Fortnitemares hit. Also Remix had a Boom Bow, rocket launchers, the rap god minigun, the shockwave launcher, snipers, boats, choppers, semis... Really drove home what people were praising CH2S2 for. And yet despite everything, the game still had this sense of sameness to it. Like every season was being put through a mold with the exception of Wrecked. Despite my misgivings with Wrecked, if Fortnite didn't decide to go off the rails like that I would have probably lost hope that the game would every really try anything different. So even though the gameplay experience was definitely middling, Wrecked, for all its flaws, was the most fun I had all chapter and gave me a spoonfull of hope for Fortnite's ability to innovate on the gameplay and keep things fresh. Overall, this Chapter was good. Solidly good. Needed some improvements, sure, but I would fight anyone who says that Epic did a bad job with it.

Maybe the first half but it just did not have enough Greek things to show that well enough. @@Mr_turtleman. Underground wasn't written well, but the theme was basically a mafia theme. Not to be confused with a spy thriller theme, which is different. Naturally, it was _another_ spiritual successor to CH2S2, but also (in my opinion) the best. Peely got captured by the mob and they're holding him random, meanwhile you're working with an informant (Hope) to take them down from the inside. Great theme, it just wasn't telegraphed very well... And that's kinda how M&M went, too. Just kinda withered on the vine. Reason I say Chapter 5 had the best themes was firstly because of the cosmetics (which is why I brought up the battle passes) and also just conceptually. The ideas were really solid, and seasons 3 & 4 actually fully delivered on those concepts.

But then myths and mortals first off Cerberus looks like a furry and doest completely capture the protector of the underworld then Hades has a legitimate gas mask which is cool but doesn't make any sense Aphrodite looks like a peppy TikTok girl, Zeus looks like a dad at a barbecue who got a little angry, Medusa and Artemis are pretty good though. Then wrecked i think they did a pretty good job but again that's because they weren't really restricted by the theme Peabody doesn't really express the theme but I do love him and while I do appreciate them adding a wasteland style for magneto i still think he should have been saved for doom(everything else about the season was dookie though) then absolute doom it's hard not to express the theme like that but I do have issues with the battlepass such as mashups being in the battlepass and while I appreciate the inclusion of more obscure characters such as Gwenpool and you could argue mysterio but he did get a boost from far from home and Emma Frost while I have heard of all of these I know a lot of others don't. And I don't know if your counting remix but I'd say the battlepass is a bit strange considering the use of 8-ball not being customizable and the use of chaos agent idk why it's just weird imo. So yeah that's that I didn't include item shop skins or other cosmetics from the battlles pass because this is already a lot to type alr I'm done yapping.

@@Mr_turtleman. The key to appreciating the Myths and Mortals cosmetics is to view them as Fortnite skins. Not Greek gods. That's the _only_ way, and it took me a while to get over that hump. And yeah, I know, that does kind of go against my case that the theme was strong, but it still at least _incidentally_ gave us some of the best looking Fortnite outfits in the game. Cerberus was going to look like a Furry no matter what because he had to be an anthropomorphic dog, Hades was already redesigned from the concept art and they went with a reserved "less is more" approach which ended up looking really good despite not looking anything like Hades, and then Aphrodite was basically the best Valentine's Day update the game could've got hidden inside of the battle pass. All of those accessories can and will work wonders for any and all future Valentine's Day related outfits. Meanwhile Peabody I agree. He should've been the hyena man from the concept art. Even at the risk of being called a furry. They did at least get to turn it into a Pep Boys Auto Shop reference. Lastly, Magneto wouldn't have fit into Absolute Doom because he'd be an obvious challenge to Doom's dominance of the island. It was more of a narrative thing. On a personal note, a lot of people (myself included) think that red spandex and purple steel looks gaudy and like to see designs like that toned down with things like brown cloaks and grime. Kind of like how Sam Raimi gave Doc Ock a brown overcoat. I hope that's the version of Doc Ock we get if he ever gets added to the game one day. And no, I don't really count Remix. But I will say that if I did I would argue that it's a rap themed season and all of the cosmetics for it were actually in the item shop and were really good for what they are.

Water bending is such a fun item to use, the cars were so fun during Wrecked, and I'm still proud of the clips I have of me beating people in the cars while not being in one, hell I got a clip of me doing that during the first week. The war machine stuff were fun as hell, and yeah I can see it being annoying, especially with the spawn rate, but at least thy nerfed it a good amount, plus I loved using the Monarch pistol against them XD. I also agree but the thing I disliked about hitscan is how much spread it gave every gun because of no bullet drop. If every bullet drop gun didn’t have a crazy amount of recoil then it would’ve been way better but on so many guns the recoil is insane, and is almost as bad as the spread on hitscan.

season 1 highlighted its problems best. if youre leading shots for a long range fight, why use an assault rifle over a sniper rifle? especially when that sniper rifle can be modded to be used as a DMR, or have multiple shots? and then for anything close range, just spam the auto shotgun! it reduced fighting to either camping out for sniper shots, or pushing into shotgun range because of the higher skill ceiling for any mid-long range combat.

Was Fortnite chapter 5 good? No But why? - new movement that no one asked for - Seasons that where boring and unenjoyable after one week - Robloxification of fortnite creative - Adding 3 Gamemodes that literally no one wants to Play except the Festival that again, was popular for only month while chapter 5 started - New battle royale map that was awful in artstyle and colors - Modified winterfest without the iconic cabin making it mid - Seasons based on collaborations leaving the lore boring, dissapointing and just bad - Map being inspirated by countries and honestly it was a good thing but basically the whole map just looked like genshin impact mixed with real life POI's that just looked awful. - Items that were once overpowered and once complitely useless in the middle of seasons - No live events that could make Seasons special (i'm not mentioning mini events becouse they cant even be called events, they were like 1 minute long and bring nothing to the storyline) - The pandora's box lore was only that it got on the map, it choosed a random girl (Hope) as a hero, it has unlimited power, it vanished for a whole season 2, it got stealed by dr.doom, he got the power of it and that's it, no one saw it again - Abandoning the original storyline with the seven that no one knows where they are, for whole chapter 5 Doctor Slone was been teased and didn't even were on the island and didn't even were a part of storyline and no one knows she was being teased just to not being mentioned anywhere - lootpool was chaotic, a lot of weapons were vaulted and unvaulted over and over - AND the WORST one: Projectile based weapons... WHO TF WANTED PROJECTILE BASED WEAPONS?? Some of the best proplayers quited fortnite becouse of this. For me it was the WORST thing that could happen in fortnite and that's pretty much it, overall chapter 5 is the beggining of fortnite downfall for me, when Donald Mustard quited working on fortnite it just got worse and worse. The only things that keep fortnite alive is Fortnite Reload, Fortnite OG and that's all. The only thing that maked chapter 5 interesting in some way is 2024 FortniteMares and Chapter 2 OG which was a collab season making it mid.

Ch5 was my first chapter and looking back even tho season 1 wasn't that great I remember having so much fun with friends and even though it's only a year ago I feel sort of nostalgic for it, probably because I was going through lot's of changes as a person and my life was kinda flipped on it's head during that time, but that's besides the point. It's really nice to hear someone who isn't absolutely sh!ting on the chapter because it didn't have the same walk animations. Great vid you earned a sub.

Chapter 5 means everything to me, as it's the first Chapter of Fortnite I've ever played. Allow me to tell you the story of my introduction to Fortnite. It's a long one, so I hope you like reading paragraphs. I like writing. (Though I guess it's technically typing, not writing.) I knew about Fortnite since its inception as a survival crafting game. I was beyond bummed when they turned it into a Battle Royale, as I am _not_ a PvP fan. Then the fanbase gained its infamous reputation (that has since gotten better), ensuring I would _never_ touch the game. In fact, I made a vow to never play a single Battle Royale game. Ever. Years passed. Then I heard about LEGO Fortnite. Being a LEGO games fan, I got curious, but never enough to check it out. Then along came Raiden. Metal Gear Solid saved me during a very bleak point in my life (and MGS2 was my favorite), so I couldn't ignore this. Of course, I didn't know jack about Fortnite's item shop, so I jumped in about 2 weeks after the skin got added, then got really confused when I couldn't find it. Then I learned about the item shop and all of its evils. I was about to leave the game for good and come back when Raiden reappeared in the shop. But then someone caught my eye. Not Peter Griffin (although he was very eye-catching), but Solid Snake. I saw that I needed the Battle Pass to get him. The Battle Pass costed 950 V-Bucks and I just so happened to have 1,000 to start with. I began putting two-and-two together. And so... my dumb ass ended up buying the version that skips 20 levels in the Battle Pass. As someone who can reach level 200 in less than a month, I still hate my past self for that one. So my grand plan was to play LEGO Fortnite to level up the Battle Pass to maximum and unlock Snake. Not too dissimilar to the way I level my Battle Passes nowadays, so I had the spirit. But I overlooked one critical thing: you had to do special challenges to get Snake. Challenges that could only be completed in Battle Royale mode. I was flabbergasted. What now? Do I break my vow to get Snake? Or do I ignore the challenges, letting Snake down? One cheesy "I'm sorry, master. But I must go all out. Just this once." ahh monologue later, and I jumped into my first game... against bots. This was an epiphany. If I could find a way to harness the power of the bot lobbies, then I'd never have to fight another player! It took me until the end of Season 3 to finally figure out that I can just use my phone to make an alt account, join it on duos no fill, and back the alt out before it earns any XP. Why did it take me so long to figure out? Because I'm a little bit... special. Anyway, I broke my vow and a handful of matches later I got my first Victory Royale with a green Nemesis AR while using the Solid Snake skin (with NVGs on because I didn't know about edit styles yet). And that's how Epic dug their hooks into me and refused to let go. I must've spent about $400-$500 dollars in this game so far. I have a decent collection of skins going, and I don't plan on stopping. My dream is that one day Epic will allow everyone to get the old Battle Pass skins. I need Nezumi like you wouldn't believe! It doesn't seem like Epic is willing to pull this Hail Mary yet, but that's fine. I'll wait as long as it takes.

Chapter 5 is what got my friends back into Fortnite and finally let them experience all of the improvements they had refused to jump in on, and they realized what I was saying when I said that Fortnite was constantly improving, and it is now a good game in their eyes again. Thanks Peter.

I just wanted to say I really appreciate this video. I definitely felt like it was a chapter that may be catered to a more casual audience, which for me was amazing. Most of the chapter felt incredibly fun maybe not balanced but fun. Hell, I even have to say that I think wrecked was probably my favorite season of the chapter especially with the wild loot pool and mad max vehicle fights. This video definitely felt like it was singing the same praises that all my friends and I were. it definitely wasn’t perfect and maybe not the best chapter but I’ll still remember a lot of things fondly about it

The reason why you didn’t think too much about the change to movement speed is because you are a zb player. So many builds moves(such as a basic side jump) became impossible due to the lowered movement speed and it overall made the game sluggish

In fact, they bring in new players through fncs which is why Fortnite is so willing to pay them. Changing the speed would do nothing but piss off both many casuals and the entirety of comp.

Excellent video I love hearing the voice of a casual even as a frequent higher ranked player, loved the transition of shadow world for remixed along side the other persona references 😭 this chapter was amazing it goes up there next to chapter 3 for me, as Season 2 day one fortnite player I agree with the indifference emotion for OG seasons, for me as an OG i’ve played this before! And for new people it’s just not as advanced as modern fortnite is and can be quite a drag, a great video I almost agree with every sentiment you had also amazing to see a fellow meowskulls enjoyer

I agree with you on chapter 5 season 3 being good as someone who has been playing Fortnite before season 1 even existed I got repetitive strain from playing season after season that was the same. This thing dragged me back in more than ninja drags low taper fade meme. This shit was fun. I played it with my Homies and we just balled out constantly. Is the most fun that we had as a team since season OG when we all started playing Fortnite together it was genuinely fun and they were genuinely fun times. It’s the reason I’m probably even still playing Fortnite right now. Chapter 2 remix would not have been enough to drag me back in like chapter 4 or wrecked did chapter 3. I barely remember chapter 2 I enjoyed for the most part. I did not enjoy chapter 2 season 4 I am going to get that out right now in my long comment. I remember every season I mean I’ve been playing for so long that it is just the way it is. I remember when tomato town was still an unnamed POI. I remember going to a shack up above weeping woods closer to where risky reels would be dying to storm bees I didn’t know what it would do from that point on from the first game I played through my struggles of never getting a solo win in chapter 1, because I could never cross the hump getting my first win solo in chapter 2, season 2. to becoming somewhat good at the game and just enjoying my time playing it I remember getting back on Fortnite for chapter 4 after not liking a lot about chapter 3, only really enjoying chapter 3 season three and chapter 3 season two I appreciate the game for what it is and I will never complain about it even the worst of worse times still entertaining the seasons that people don’t like I enjoy primal is my fifth favorite season that says a lot about me. My top 10 seasons are chapter 1 season five chapter 1 season eight chapter 1 season two chapter 4 season one chapter 2 season six chapter 4 season three chapter 5, season three chapter 2 season five chapter 2 season eight and chapter 1, season three. not to mention my top 15 is also stacked I enjoy seasons of Fortnite. I play them. I play them a lot even if it blends together for me even if I don’t play that much I still watch it on KZbin from people that like it or dislike it nothing more or less about Fortnite I will never hate the only times I’ve truly disliked Fortnite was during fracture and prelude. The only events that are in my opinion ass. The mini events are better than these two with all of that said I still enjoy Fortnite. I don’t go to complain or scream about it because this looks ass, even though it’s not out yet even though you haven’t tried it yet even though you haven’t experienced it yet yes, you may be a sweat, but you don’t speak for the majority of players or just looking to unwind after a long day and I may be towards the sweatyer side, but I still want to relax I still enjoy everything that Fortnite adds as a whole the meta-verse for me. I didn’t play until well Sundayish because crew now gets all those battle passes and now I’m gonna be playing and experiencing and enjoying every single one of them and I already kind of played them. I love festival even though I don’t play it because I’m not that good at rhythm I love Lego. I love rocket racing, except I don’t play it because I’m not good at racing and when I have played those, I have enjoyed them. I wouldn’t have played Fortnite if it were for one video back in the fort overnight craze in stores for more jstu they went into a store with a console and played this game called Fortnite that very same day I installed and started playing Fortnite I was 11 and now I’m here someone who just wants to play Fortnite who enjoys Fortnite as it is. It is the thing that took over my life. It is the thing that made me into the type of gamer I am today the one that appreciates multiplayer games and enjoys story games everything about it just made me happy. I was already playing multiplayer games because of Halo multiplayer in Halo 3 and 4 and the master chief collection and five and now we are here when I was starting to play Fortnite before season one ever existed I had no concept of what would come I would think about what would it be like in season 10 and then the mechs came and went I would think about what it would be like in season 30 and well cars came I wonder what it would be like in season 31 we would have Dr. doom on the map. I wonder what it would be like in season 32 well we would be back in chapter 2 if you told me that chapter 2 would exist back then I would not believe you but now we are here in the time of 2024 coming into an end and soon chapter 6 will start I am hyped for it. I am excited for it, but I am definitely in the minority because I don’t hate on seasons people hate I love them. I love, primal, wilds, and wrecked, and cubed. back in chapter 4 season three I would be on the trees in the densely packed jungle in the center of the map in the endgame just riding along the grind rails that were just vines and having fun fighting and getting wins I would never know it would be like right now if I didn’t play Fortnite. Fortnite forever changed my life and I will never hate it because it got me out of a time where I was just burnt out and tired. I am lucky that I have kind and loving parents who helped me get out of my rough patches it never changed who I was. It never changes what happens for one thing that matters is it time no. Fortnite will never die. and I will stick by it through seasons people hate. I don’t know why they hate seasons that are fun. I don’t know why they hate fun. The end.

How do I tell KZbin that this is my favorite video ever? 😅 As a non-comp zero build player, I can’t say I disagreed with any take! I actually liked Wrecked, Underground (despite its lack of story) was my favorite, it felt grounded but with funny things like the Cluster Clingers, Waterbending was demonic asl, and Remix is just a calm nice conclusion to it all. I started in C4S3, but my first season I’ve ever played was OG and I’ve played since then, and I love the chapter 5 map, and im sad to see it go. No matter how much I hated it in the moment. i got into fortnite at around the start or close to the start of chapter 2:remix so i didn't experience any of chapter 5. I don't like battle royale games really due to how bored i get running around doing nothing but my friends had been playing this chapter and really wanted me to play with them so i did. getting in at the end was not great due to how i found there not much to do during the actual battles (i completed the battlepass but only through 90% of my xp being festival) but i had heard a lot about the earlier parts of the chapter through my friends and how much fun they were having. i didnt actually know many people didnt like this chapter with my friends mostly having gripes at the end. i guess this is all to say that i really liked this video for a game I honestly don't care too much about. your whimsical vibe and humor have captivated me lmao. i still play fortnite, having a lot more fun with chapter 6 actually, but this video does make me regret not joining in sooner but its nice to see someone talk about it from a more casual perspective. as casual as you can be i guess

I'm a newer player to the game who got in right as Wreaked was ongoing (tuning in a little bit before Magneto came in) and tbh I have fond memories of the experience thus far that got me hooked and wanting to play more of it with friends, especially some of the original characters for the game (like even for how much Megalo Don got shafted, there was no reason for them to go as hard as they did making his design and his theme). As such, I do enjoy what is to come for Chapter 6 at least from the teasers and look forward to even more fun times. Thank you for the interesting perspective on the chapter as a whole.

The projectile weapons had bloom till you got a scope which would be why they were so inconsistent but the alternative would lead to no one getting scopes. I’d rather have bloom because fun fact tap firing at ranges makes bloom almost entirely disappear on any gun you’d be using at those ranges ❤️❤️
