I didn't see anything that turns me off. Looks like a lot of kayak for the price. Thanks for doing the review, Chris!

Great review. Been waiting for a review on that boat. Last time I communicated with Hoodoo, they were not offering the Impulse with the propeller drive, fin drive only. It's been several months since that communication so that may have changed. But it was definitely after you got yours.

Thanks for the review Chris, informative. I have two Old Town pedal drive kayaks, the big water and the salty. I really like them, but until you actually get in them and use them you don't know all the little pros and cons. From your video, securing the pedal drive on the Old Towns is much easer to get in and out. They are more expensive, but worth a look for those in the market as a comparison.

Hmm thought I might want one of these. But after seeing how that drive gets locked down I think Ill pass. The lakes I fish can go from deep to shallow kinda quick. So a drive that can be raised and lowered quicker/easier would be much better for me. Messing with those screws would get old fast.

Hoodoo definitely has to take a look at that. Take a look at Hoodoos tempest and voyager series kayaks. They don’t have the Screw lock downs. 🤙

Love the review. Im looking into purchasing one of these yaks. Here in the northwest, we troll a lot for chinooks, usually in a bigger body of waters. My only concern is only with choppy water or tide water. Have you tried it in any of those conditions? Thanks once again!
@DeadCalmOutdoors10 ай бұрын
I e had it out in 20 mph winds and some choppy water it handled well. I was stressed but the kayak was stable. Here in South Carolina we have 5-6 ft tide swings and heavy current. No issues. Hope this helps if you have any other questions please let me know. 👊🏻

Looking at getting one of these, as an additional kayak for a guest but with fins. Do you know what an easily maintainable speed is on the kayak? Would you say like 3mph?

Yea my easy cruising speed is 2 mph with no effort 3 mph is easy to maintain with no problem
