The vocal coach on this is the same guy who coached Austin Butler in the Elvis film I believe. I think Timothy Chalamet is a brilliant actor who seems to be able to turn his hand to anything. I can’t wait for this film and it will surely introduce Dylan to the younger generation.

Chalamet does his own singing here. Bob Dylan is an executive producer on this movie.

Im a Dylan fan, and remain mesmerized by the Ledger/Blanchette movie. But after Chalamette's performance in Dune 2, I'm willing to give him a chance.

I am old enough to remember Bob Dylan during his heyday. There have been several documentaries about Dylan, especially during the first ten years of his ongoing career, and a supremely weird concept film about Dylan called "I'm Not There" (2007), directed by Todd Haynes. I love Dylan but I hated "I'm Not There," I couldn't sit through the whole thing. Characters from Dylan song lyrics are played by dozens of different actors. I, too, am really stoked to see Mangold's "A Complete Unknown." Chalamet is a gifted actor who really disappears into Dylan. I hear Dylan himself approves of this biopic; he is a producer of the movie.

"A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall" is one of my absolute favorite songs, this teaser gave me chills straight away! Also, Greenwich Village at this time, early 60's, was brimming with talented people who would go on and become well-known artists in their own right. "No Direction Home" the Scorsese documentary about Dylan, gives a sense of this talent (with many cool interviews) and community that existed when Dylan got to town around '62, who he hung out with and their perspective on Dylan when he was just around 20 years old. I highly recommend it.

The fact that Chalamet sings plays guitar & harmonica is amazing It's about Dylan entrance into the music scene in downtown NYC it includes his immediate rise & then he changes to electric guitar at the Newport Folk Festival & the wrath that happened to him. Rami Malek in Queen had original Queen songs mixed with his voice The older Elvis in Elvis movie was the real Elvis at the end of the movie the young Elvis was Austin Butler.

A good primer for this film would be to watch Martin Scorcese’s “No Direction Home” which is more of a documentary about this same time period of Dylan’s life and has alot scenes of Dylan on tour.

I really enjoyed your triple reaction! Most famous singers have a voice that is immediately recognized. Many human just seem to like that. Bob chose Bob Dylan voice. Bob has dozens of Dylan voices and many 'normal' voices used primarily on covers. The fourth link is proof that he can really sing Gordon Lightfoot's song in a way that hopefully surprise you.
