One of the best Reviews of the HEDDphone 2. I own this since three Weeks. Greetings from Germany
@tdfmike39158 ай бұрын
Whats Your impression of them? Lots of review guys say that they are not that detailed but I compared them to lcdx, lcd4 and HD800 on my system and I am impressed! Rather dark and sybillant though. I use them with my A90 and/or tubes. That takes off the edge. Their only down side seem to be the Drums. You can EQ them to sound however you want but somethings still slightly off with the drums. I had musicians over to AB test with my other stuff. Im looking forward to a hedd3. If the company survives the german recession...

I listened to the Heddphone2 on the Violectric DHA V226 and another Violectric amplifier. On one it sounded great, but the amp didn't have enough power. On the other it also lacked power/gain, but it sounded worse.

Hey Zeos. What are your thoughts on the fastness of the drivers compared to other drivers/headphones?
@ZReviews11 ай бұрын
I think the speed isn't as impressive with other headphones from Abyss or Tungsten or Stax (even cheap ones) out there for the same price. My biggest take away was the new tuning. Fast means nothing if you don't want to listen to it.

@@ZReviews Much appreciated. Thanks.

@ZReviews hey Zeus, I got to agree that the tunig is good (if you like darker tunings). But I would attribute some of their features to the speed of the AMT. They are detailed without beeing bright, clean and good a sepperation, they dont distort and you can tune them however you want. I tuned them to sound like empyrions just for the lols but had to keep trying different tunings after that😂

They are studio headphones again so 1/4 inch jack is a typical connection. I really like the speakers but was not impressed with first ones but after this will give these a try. I'm a studio engineer, but, I need my audio to be nice otherwise I start to try to add it in the mix when that last bit is the job of the speaker or the headphone.
@TigroGumi11 ай бұрын
As a studio headphone they have to tell you how the source sounds... so they are doing their job well

Zeos I love your reviews! I have one question on this one however. If you can flip the cups to be face down on the table, couldn't you then just flip the actual headphone so it was laying cups up? Or am I wrong?

The HEDD one is my favorite headphone. It looks like they compromise the original design for the looks and practicality. I just dont care for those. Open backs im usually alone anyway, couldn't care less the way I look with it. They love power to look good. Remonds me of the oroginal P1. I use them with my Raganarok or Valhalla. 5w is the sweet spot, which is CRAZY

If you’re needing reference for audio production.. These being neutral and all 9s would be perfect? I wanted the heddphone 1 glad I never got it…
@En_Joshi-Godrez11 ай бұрын
You shouldn't be using headphones for mixing or mastering engineering. I wouldn't spend to much on a monitoring headphones since they are just a reference point.
@sonicpulp941711 ай бұрын
@@En_Joshi-Godrez I own the hedd type 20s. Headphones are a great tool though. I like to use several different kinds to reference. If these were made for audio production then that would explain why there’s a neutral sound. Also some pros like andrew Schwepps say it’s possible to mix in headphones, and often there are no rules when mixing.
@Wagoo11 ай бұрын
@@En_Joshi-Godrez poppycock, it's fine to mix on the right headphones as primary source and then use speakers as secondary. Completely up to the user
@JonTangenRasmussen11 ай бұрын
@@En_Joshi-Godrez You shouldnt use headphones for mixing and mastering? Says who? Why would something that literally eliminates acoustics from the equation be a bad thing for mixing & mastering? One example is Andrew Scheps, guy swears by mixing records on headphones. If you’re into Drum & Bass, check out Current Value. He pretty much exclusively makes all his music on headphones. I think the keyword here is «reference». It’s very important to familiarize yourself with- and really know how any monitoring equipment that you use truly sounds, so reference-reference-reference with everything. Listen to all your favourite music through them to get to know them on a hyper-personal level. Just my opinion though 🤷♂️ I have a few studio monitors myself that I regularly use. But in terms of f.ex checking stereo-image/ambience (removing external acoustics), identifying unwanted distortion and dirt in productions etc, headphones are definitely the way to go. Like a proper magnifying glass.

I am currently using Focal Clear MG and I really like how they sound, but as it happens with this hobby I want more/something new. I would really like headphones that let me hear as much detail as possible but my price limit is 2K. Would you say that HEDDphone 2 are perfect match for me?
@Dan.M8219 ай бұрын
Hi, I have had chance to compare both directly. Plus Hifiman 1000, Dan Clark, 109 pro. I can not see anything Hedd can impress you if you have Clear. Details included. They are super natural, rather dark, with nothing special making user amazed. I see the niche for them as they sound completaly different than other headphones but I am not sure if it is possible with this high price. With blind test comparing them with others I would say they cost 500 USD max.

I could've sworn 3.5mm was an unbalanced connection? What's the science that goes into making a headphone that uses dual 3.5mm for balanced connections?
@DualModernField11 ай бұрын
You can make any mm connection balanced. It just means you have own grounds for both signals. 3.5mm tends to be unbalanced so they tend to make 4.4mm and 2.5mm balanced to avoid confusion
@Деазнам11 ай бұрын
Balanced 'simplified' means L & R signals are seperate.. so as long as they ARE seperate (unlike something like a Beyerdynamic that has the cable go inside only ONE side of the headphone and would require extreme modding) you can easily have both cables coming out of the the L and R cups either terminate to unbalanced (6.3mm etc) or balanced (xlr etc)
@m4nc1n111 ай бұрын

@humanbass11 ай бұрын
3.5mm Zeos is talking about is the cup connector
@anthixious11 ай бұрын
@@humanbass My logic is I'm assuming it doesn't really matter if a 3.5mm is on the headphone for a cup connector, as long as it only carries one channel and/or ground signal, it's balanced audio on the headphone correct?
