As a rule of thumb, NEVER accept money from a company (insurance, game show, whatever) that is offered to silence you or cover whatever costs you may be having to face later on. Often times the medical bills or transportation/hotels end up being more expensive than what they gave you, but because you took their bride there’s not a lot of legal ground you have.

I believe this is due to MrBeast and his crew gradually distancing themselves from the heart, charm, and good comedy that made them popular. They have removed members who embodied these qualities and have become a KZbin corporation with low-quality humor, clickbait thumbnails, and videos that are excessively edited with unnecessary text and CGI. This overwhelms viewers, especially kids, with information. In short, I feel that MrBeast lost his sincerity and appeal in 2019 or 2020, which is disheartening.

Amanda the thing with the artist Ava likes was a lot worse. It wasn't lolicon it was just straight up cp. With Lolis there's some leeway since they're suped stylized. No little girl like like an anime girl. Doesn't change the creepy implications but there is some leeway with "I just like the art style". There was none of that with the artist. He straight up drew realistic depictions of random kids online. Like real kids that have real parents and addresses. He drew them lewdly. It was a huge thing a bit ago cause he drew a sexualized version of drama alert's daughter and she was like 4 years old. It was something wild like that. I don't remember the specifics but it was super gross. Some people tried to justify the whole thing cause "oh it's just keemstar". It was crazy!!! Like it could be Hitler's 4 yr old girl IDC. This is a literal crime. The victim isn't even keemstar it's the toddler who people were getting off to thanks to that scum bag.

@catcactus12343 ай бұрын
@@nitrogelReceiving a car as a prize is actually a really bad gift in most cases. Giving someone a $50K+ car means they’ll have to pay much higher insurance rates and maintenance fees to keep it. Someone who only earns an average middle class wage is going to struggle keeping up with those costs, and it may even make their financial situation worse in the long run than if they had just gotten a cheap, used car. There’s also taxes and a lot of legal issues to sort through when gifting someone a car, which the receiver might be on the hook for too. Getting an electric car is even worse in that situation. Although electric cars are great for the environment, they’re still not widely adopted and the receiver might not live in an area with electric charging. If that’s the case, they’ll need to pay for their own electric charger which costs a ton of money. Overall it’s just a giant money sink even if you “win it for free”.

it especially sucks bc jimmy’s audience is so young - ava tyson is probably the only trans person a lot of these (let’s be real) small children know about, and consequently is also the only trans person a lot of of their very offline parents who only hang around people their own age know about (not saying there aren’t older trans people, but a lot less of them are out in the modern sense + many who WERE out lost their lives during the aids crisis). every group is going to have its terrible people whose actions don’t reflect on the community as a whole, but it hits extra hard when that group is as underground trans community is - it’s easier to put one face to an entire community when it’s so comparatively small + write them off “accordingly”, and unfortunately ava tyson is that face for a lot of people. it doesn’t matter to reactionary people that trans kids are statistically MORE likely to be abused by cis adults when the biggest trans person in the news right now is a predator. is “trans people are all predators” untrue bullshit that actively endangers the lives of all trans people, minors included? yes. does the fact that it’s untrue bullshit matter to the people claiming it? absolutely not. this is unfortunately just more ammunition for them, and the next few months of the internet are going to suck particularly bad for us :’)

Just because lava said he wasn’t groomed doesn’t actually mean he wasn’t groomed because unfortunately, a lot of grooming victims either never recognize that they got groomed or don’t recognize it until years or decades later. This is evidenced by the amount of grooming victims who end up marrying their groomer as soon as they reach adulthood. That’s what the movie May December is about, and it’s based on a real case of Mary Kay LeTourneau who groomed and molested her middle school student Vili Fuulau, convinced him that she never groomed him and that he was actually in control the whole time, even though he was a 12-year-old boy and she was an adult woman with a husband and children. he married her as soon as he legally could, and they were married for several years until as he got older he started to realize that she really did groom him and steal his innocence from him. Another famous example of this is Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, his wife Brigitte Macron. The First Lady of France was his former high school teacher who started molesting him when he was only 15 years old, the same age as her own daughter. He grew up to marry her, and now they’ve been married for several years, and this man is running one of the major world economies, but still doesn’t recognize that he is a victim of grooming, and who knows if he ever will. I’ve read the screenshots of the messages between Ava and lava and it really looks a lot like grooming to me, whether lava recognizes that or not. EDIT: don’t use this comment to say that women’s crimes aren’t taken seriously. Mary Kay Letourneau went to prison for 7 1/2 years for her crimes. Brigitte Macron didn’t go to jail because what she did is not illegal in France no matter if a man or woman does it, French men have done the same thing and didn’t go to prison either, for example Luc Besson who directed The Fifth Element and Léon The Professional did something very similar to his now-ex-wife, started grooming her at 12 and got her pregnant at 15. In this comment I was only talking about the mentality of the victims, not the mentality of the larger society.

Im sorry if this comes up as trauma dumping, but I absolutetly agree with this comment. I had some inapropiate conversations with adults when i was 14. I debate since I don't know if i can call myself "a grooming victim" because part of me is always like "but didn't you enjoyed the attention? If you are traumatized, why do you still have one of them in facebook? But you had fun, victims don't have fun. And im like, maybe they didn't meant, but then I think that Im 18 now and I will never talk to a 14 year old the way they talked to me without felling like a scumbag. Victims often will get very mixed fellings about their perpetrators, specially if they are victims of manipulation. Its like the boiling frog experiment. You don't know how bad things are until you are burning, because even if the water is boiling now, at some point it was warm, comforting and nice. You stayed in it because you were cold. And when your skin is finally melting, you cant scape because you feel like it was your fault for staying there, and that you should at least accept your destiny with grace.

I think it says a lot about how our society views men's sexuality vs women's sexuality is the fact that both of these high-profile cases of groomers marrying the minors that they groomed involved an adult woman and an underage boy. Both female predators and male victims are not taken seriously in our society because men are seen as active sexual beings while women are passive sexual beings. So when the dynamic is flipped it is seen as less serious. Race also plays a role in the LeTourneau case as her victim is Samoan while LeTourneau was white; men of color are often seen as more sexual than white men. Also in both stories the groomer was a teacher, a role that already holds power over children.
@bebop25233 ай бұрын
@@northstarjakobs Mary Kay Letourneau‘s predatory behavior was absolutely taken seriously by society, she spent 7.5 years in prison for what she did, how can you say she wasn’t taken seriously in light of that? I have not liked him since I became cognizant of the whole t series thing. when I was a kid that was huge and I clicked on one of his videos and the comments were just awful, spewing hate to indian people in all the usual ways. as a small Indian child obviously I was just confused bc I had not been exposed to racism otherwise and this was the first time I saw people hating others in a racist way. Obviously it's not his fault that people commented that but thinking back he probably saw the comments and definitely should have told his audience to knock it off. I don't think my experience as a kid was very impactful on me personally but I think allowing racism of any kind is deplorable.

as a trans person, its really refreshing to hear you not deadname and degrade ava for being trans. being trans does not a bad person make, and being cis does not a good person make. its like when all of the lizzo stuff came out, people kept saying terrible fatphobic things seemingly now because they had an excuse to.
@nitrogel3 ай бұрын
What the heck is fatphobic? Saying that overweight people are not healthy is a completely fine thing to say. Also, "cis"? I think you mean straight.
@nitrogel3 ай бұрын
Honestly this whole deadname bullshit is why people have problems with it. If you wanna change your name it's fine no one cares what your name is. But when you start to treat it like you are a whole new person who died and got revived with a new name is just ridiculous.
@Natalia-ix3iu3 ай бұрын
Right but the issue is people thinking Lizzo is solely a bad person BECAUSE she is fat/overweight. There’s a lot more to critique about her morals and ethicality when it comes to her employees and her role as a boss. To solely critique her because of her weight is a flawed argument because if she can loose that weight, would she suddenly be a great person? No. Similarly if Ava wasn’t a trans person, would that make their actions ok? No.

Admittedly at the beginning, the claims felt like "what you do mean reality TV is staged??" but it very quickly became worse Edit: also, thanks for the hard stance against transphobia. People using Ava’s predatory behaviour to be transphobic is absolutely pathetic. YES you can hold her accountable without being a pos and respecting her pronouns. Being trans does not give you a get out of jail card but people need to stop condemning her for being trans as if that’s what makes her problematic and not her behaviour, which regardless of gender, is messed up.

I’ve never liked him or watched one of his videos on one of my own base moral beliefs: charity isn’t charity if you gain something from it (or if you brag about it). if you gain either a social standing, social approval, or money in your charity, then that’s charity for all the wrong reasons. it’s the same reason i don’t donate through stores- they take your donations and donate them under their names so that they can get a break in their taxes. real charity is kind- it is anonymous and done SOLELY for the benefit of others. not for youtube views, not for popularity, not for the financial gain of a youtube video. also, why is most of his “charity” dependent on the actions of those he’s supposed to be helping? that’s just exploitative. he could be donating to homeless shelters, women’s shelters, food banks, community centers, etc., but he chooses to “donate” in a way that’s solely dependent on those getting help degrading their social image. it’s icky.

(and to be clear, not excusing any of ava's actions here, just saying i'm happy to see someone recognizing the actual problem here and not going "whoah maybe the reactionary transphobe was right!!!! haha wow he saw the future".) anyway, fantastic video! definitely gonna be checking out more of your stuff in the future.
