I understand just not vibing with her, but I don’t understand the moral high ground some people have about it. Some “she’s not a girl’s girl” business. You can’t please everyone, but some people are acting like she deserves to get “cancelled” just bc she doesn’t do exactly what they would do in a situation. You don’t have to be exactly aligned in thought! That’s just makes for a disingenuous echo chamber!

17:35 Update, she has since had Charli XCX and Daisy Edgar-Jones on. And tbh I get why she would have mostly men, bc her audience is mostly not men, and so there’s the most potential for… cross-pollination, if you will. I don’t Brittany has done anything to warrant valid hate. If you don’t vibe with her that’s one thing, but I don’t understand the people that act like they have the moral high ground. I feel like I frequently see blue checkmarks on Twitter switching up on people like this for engagement. It feels like another “FINALLY, I’ve been waiting for y’all to hate this well-liked person that I’ve hated for forever!!!”

i feel like people want adrian to be more significant but as someone who watched various cartoons with main male leads and a supporting female, people would be livid how the "GIRL" is not the main and most important character

Genuine question to Americans. How important do y'all think you are? Do you think you're helping Palestine by saying, "I stand with Palestine" and putting a flag in your bio? Simply donate and move on with your fucking life. We as the third world do not care how much you "stand" with us as long as your government continues to oppress us or fund our oppressors in the case of Palestine.

Why people don’t realize that Brittany has a place to talk about American politics related to women and not a middle eastern religious decades long quagmire is so beyond me

I think that she realized what she said and had a moment of realization that its crazy that a person with a checkmark is the only way for information to get out, not that she didn't want to have to be that person just that she has to be the source.

hi amanda! i have never watched one of your videos before as i just found you for this video but i would like to tell you what i thought. i think that your video does a good job of covering most criticisms of brittany and that is fine. however, in the beginning of this video you said that you don’t like to judge people’s character because you don’t truly know them but in the cody ko portion of this video you stated that there was no way she only just saw the allegations because she is so chronically online. maybe, she is, but so am i and i only knew of the allegations when dangelo made his video. but i also think that was a poor point for you to make because you truly don’t know what kind of content she absorbs online and you worded you criticism in such a way that makes it seem like she was lying about only just learning about what he is being accused of. overall, you contradicted yourself a LOT in this video and i wanted to let you know about how it looked to me.

Apparently in her old podcast from a few years ago Brittany did say the collab videos of cody and tana were so uncomfortable to watch, so it seems she was aware of cody's creepy behavior towards tana for a while

I never followed brittany so I wasn't aware of the way she addressed Palestine. I'm disgusted and shocked now after seeing her close friends story. I watched a couple episodes of the violating community guidelines podcast when they first came out, but I immediately stopped watching after one episode where they where talking about "how men see the world" in such a negative way, almost hateful way, not to mention the gender essentialist and gender binary views that they where trying to sell as feminism. It's even more interesting to think back at that after she's made her statement about cody and tana

I was a huge fan of her but her leaked video of her talking about Gaza gave me the ick and I could never watch her content the same since. I've not even really missed her content because of how many creators are out there.

As a long time Brittany fan I’ve been really disappointed… the truth is, she does cut a lot of slack for men she likes regardless of their problematic reputation. Matty for example, said a bunch of racist stuff about Ice Spice and allegedly treated Taylor Swift horribly in their relationship. I definitely understand if you don’t like Taylor Swift or Ice Spice, but Brittany is very loud about how much of a girl’s girl she is, but she never addressed the racism, and she makes fun of the lyrics that Taylor wrote about men who treat her wrong (including Matty) every now and then. I’m not saying she should automatically support any woman, but also it’s very clear that she’s picky about who’s allowed to be part of girl’s club. the women she usually doesn’t support are the women who had something against one of her favorite white boys! (Taylor, Tana…) I love Brittany, but she probably would’ve not been a big Beyoncé fan as much as she is, if she had a crush on Jay-Z.

"If you have a platform use it to spread awareness about important things" then to "omfg how dare people be mad at me for not addressing a genocide happening in the middle east and spreading information about it and how to help, ugh that's not MY place" ???? Make it make sense

You (influencers, content creators) should always use your platform and privilege. Influencers INFLUENCE so why not use that immense amount of privilege to speak out, to amplify voices, to educate others. Creators who aren't taking about genocide and slavery only do so to keep brand deals; trying to be unbiased about world issues is weird and wrong. 10:39 "it is a responsibility you have" she already knew! Also, here are some super helpful things you can do to help Palestinians and other oppressed groups: - register to vote, and VOTE - download the GenZForChange IOS shortcut that sends automatic ceasefire emails daily - repost any fundraisers you see - on stories, community tabs, anywhere. If you cannot donate, someone else viewing may be able to - repost accurate educational content. Operation Olive Branch is a wonderful resource, I have many more available in my bio - start conversations, in person and on social media. Word of mouth is a powerful thing - support Palestinian owned businesses

i get not feeling qualified to speak on such a divisive topic, but her job is on the internet, aka the largest collection of educational resources in history. read some edward said, read some ta-nehisi coates. the only reason to stay ignorant about a topic is if you are choosing to do so.

My thing is the way Brittney decided to respond when it comes to bringing awareness towards P a l e s t I n e Also I don’t like the way she claims to be for the underdogs and wants to help with social issues and wants to talk about how women suffer a lot as if there aren’t women in Palestine also suffering and there’s so much more but yeah 💀also her saying “if you have a platform , use it” when her own fans most likely sent her the information that is needed to learn of Palestine and other third world countries that are suffering that’s what I do and some other fellow people (BTW this is just my opinion but to each there own)

she’s just like any famous white woman before her. not everybody necessarily deserves a platform. but this video essay coming down on a woman is interesting. especially on the heels of mass exposure of predators on this exact platform. the video is well made and makes fair points btw, not trying to insinuate unfairness on your end. just a lot happening all at once.

I honestly think we should always be able to call out content creators and influencers when they make mistakes or for their short comings. However, there should be a threshold for what topics or mistakes should be called out. As well as calling someone out shouldn’t equate canceling them or over doing it

Am I the only one that things this is kinda dumb like Brittany does not have to speak about political issues if she does not want to. And if that’s her brand well her brand can change. This whole thing about like attacking her for one comment she made that isn’t even problematic and really just proves that people will always find a way to attack a women.

I used to love Brottany Broski but if I came out about being raped and she responded by saying that it WOULD be upsetting if there is proof would make me want to die. I thought it was believe all women or does that not apply to Tana? What really pisses me if off is she pretends like shes this feminist girls girl but she picks and chooses who she supports and believes. Being a feminist means supporting all women whether or not they fit your public image. She is giving pick me for sure.
