Hi purple 🤗 In the village in north Bedfordshire where i lived as a yoof,the local primary school headmistress used to organize 3 rambles a year to keep footpaths clear.she used to get annoyed at farmers ploughing right up to hedges to deter walkers😱styles were removed and gates locked illegally.

This sort of action is never pleasant but you did everything perfectly. The landowner is completely in the wrong and knows it. The more people that use this footpath in the way you did then the more pressure will be put to enforce the freedom to use the path. Keep it up. I think it's about time I took a stroll along the Nene using this footpath.

Under GDPR what they are going to do with your personal information (mobile number), you shouldn’t have to be forced to give personal information to exercise your right on a Pubic Right of Way, I hope he doesn’t pass you number to anyone without your consent otherwise it’s a data breach!! Interesting 🤔🤔 makes you wonder too, does someone have something to hide 😮.... that's why they don't want the public walking through the yard.If nothing to hide just paint a line for the public footpath guide from 1 side to another and just get rid of that silly gate or put a cattle gate up, no locks.

I had a similar situation with a farmer few months ago, I couldn't find the Footpath as it wasn't very clearly marked, and the old farmer was not happy that I was there, and not happy that he had to point out the way to me, he wanted me gone, so I walked back and forth across his land about 3 times just to see him burst a blood vessel in frustration 😂😂

@PurpleVision23 you must of encountered some yourself being the rambling legend that you are 😉👍🏻..... but yes here in northampton there are a lot of fields where the path is no longer visible, and have crops growing over them which makes it a terrible time trying to get through , whilst having to guess the right direction ... I always get a bit of a grump on when this happens and at that moment I take the attitude of "well if this idiot farmer isnt goin to make his footpath visible then ill wander all over his land until i find it" .. I really feel that if they are gonna have a problem with people on "their land" then they should make it so that not even an idiot could miss the waymarkers
