Guest bio: Anders Sørenson is a Danish clinical psychologist with a special interest in psychiatric drug withdrawal. He has undertaken research which assesses the state of guidance on psychiatric drug withdrawal. He has also paid close attention to tapering methods with the aim of identifying approaches which might make withdrawal more tolerable for people. In addition to his research work, Anders utilizes psychotherapy in his private practice when helping people to come off the drugs and we’ll get to talk about some of that in this interview.

The drug companies don't want people to stop taking drugs. I'm curious to know (in real numbers) just how much the medical establishment benefits monetarily. So many impacts on society and the economy as well.

'Manufacturing fake emotions' This reminds me how in the air above whatever I really was when taking antipsychotics. Lost touch of myself. After almost a year off them, Im still uneasy being me. Its like I had a regression and have to build myself frrom 19, and Im 50 now. Plus people around find me strange. I Ve thougt of wearing a t-shirt saying Psych Med Survivor. But that might backfire

I am nearly half way off my daily Benzo dose - after over 2 years tapering and it was only a while back I realised how numbing they had made me, how I had lived in this numbed state for so many years and did not even realise it. So you are on for example Benzo's or an AD for 10 - 20 years and yet you have been numbed to anything you really need to be dealing with and getting help with.

So I would be talking with a coworker and hear an inconsistency and I would immediately switch to verbal abuse and scare and traumatize people. When I needed to be relaxed and at peace and not stress or agitated. I did not realize I was impaired it was like being drunk. You sort of know but you are operating with what you have and can’t make yourself any different.

I’d love if you asked the next expert on their opinions about pregnant women taking antipsychotics/psychotropic drugs. I am currently pregnant (thankfully not on any psychotropic drugs myself but I am very concerned with how frequently I see women say they’re using these medications during pregnancy). I saw one study today that said the use of antipsychotics during pregnancy DOUBLES the risk of stillbirth and I wonder if that’s ever discussed with pregnant women before deciding to continue taking them. I’d also be interested to know how they would taper or find a way to get off the drugs in the case of pregnancy. I’m pretty shocked how common it is for pregnant women to take these psychotropic drugs. We avoid advil and yet “believe” these drugs with unknown effects won’t cause harm?? I’ve also seen studies linking maternal antidepressant use during pregnancy with autism. I’d be interested to see more studies on that.

Great issue! This is a huge problem with the overmedicating women of childbearing age. There are scholarly articles documenting the birth defects by antidepressants online.

I just wanted to share this video and didn't know where else to put it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXPUk4mlZ9iEn5I It's about the "medication" that were given to covid patients. Midazalam, morphine, opiods, even haloperidol. The doctor says, those combinations may be responsible for many deaths because those also suppress breathing, haloperidol also causes tongue spasm (as far as I'm aware - and haloperidol on patients with physical problems?! Seriously?!). I already posted a comment some time ago, that the drug combination on covid patients seems suspicious. I think the use of psych meds in general hospitals could also be addressed - any plans in doing so? Because this psych meds topic is not only important for "mental health" patients, but for the whole population, if they are even overused in hospitals. (To the video: thank you, restores faith in humanity! And that's actually needed right now. ❤)

Have you not figured out that doctors can be aggressive, threatening pimps? They can be harmful. Now stand up for yourself. Many doctors are actually stupid, ignorant greedy people. Sorry to inform you but they are flawed.
