It would be a very funny video seeing him go into a Hasidic Jewish restaurant in Brooklyn, and order food in English, get all of them talking and at the right time switch to Yiddish, the reaction would make a great video, his Yiddish is good enough to drive them nuts

Why is everyone ignoring this fact that what makes this so interesting is that he's black and it's very strange to see a black man speaking Yiddish, let alone a non-jew.
@user-pr2rz4jr5p3 жыл бұрын
Is Yiddish older than other Germanic languages? If so I don’t know why it’s so strange considering the history of “blacks” in Germany and Europe, the Jews most likely picked it up from them because when Spanish conquistadors brought Africans along to translate for them they were able to converse with the autochthonous Americans who spoke paleo-Hebrew...

Just FYI, there is a sizeable population of black Jews from Ethiopia that split off in Biblical times but reunited with other Jews in Israel in the late 20th century. They speak Amharic rather than Yiddish, though.

Yiddish is a fun sounding language. It's good he learnt Yiddish. He must be highly intelligent. I'm a Catholic but in my dealings w/ Jewish people, they've all been jovial, welcoming & positive. I haven't had as positive experiences as with Jewish people. May Christ enlighten their minds to His Truth, that they may become Catholics.
