Great interview. It’s nice that Steve answers everything in a relaxed way. He is The Man and still talks like a regular folk, so humble.

Steve is a straight shooter. He says exactly what he thinks, not in a rude or obnoxious way, but very matter-of-factly. I think that's what makes him such an effective bandleader. Everyone knows where he stands.

I think that Harry is the reason SO many people picked up the bass. World class player and lyricist.

Mine was Michael Anthony and Pete way, and THEN I HEARD Phantom of the Opera, I put my pick away and learned with my fingers, it took me months and months to get the speed down, the Galloping came to me kind of easy I practice under the Bonanza Theme, , I'm 58 and still me hero, oh and I made a little living playing, 😊

Andy, as a fellow bass player to another, I could not have been more proud of you brother. Steve Harris is my hero and inspiration, and I am so happy that you got a chance to chat with the legend 🤘

good stuff Andrew, rockers like Steve H are a rare breed, I cant think of too many others at his level who have been going for near on 50 yrs who still have a positive enough attitude to deliver quality informative and down to earth interview such as this.

Great interview and well done for asking the question about blaze. Props to Steve for saying nothing but good things about blaze.

I'm not a big fan of the Blaze era, but he's a great guy and a class act. I'm glad that Maiden still plays a few songs from his era occasionally, because he's a part of their history. Priest should have showed the Ripper era some love too.

Well done on bagging this one! Shame it's so short, but to be expected.

@@LegaliseFreedom1 I didn't want to ask about the time limit, so I thought I'd aim for 25 minutes and leave it at that. Trust me, I’d love to spend a few hours exploring it all-there's so much nuance in those incredible albums from the '80s that I'd love to dive into.

Flight of Icarus. That would be what I call a bold statement when talking with the main writer of Iron Maiden. 😂
@ScarsandGuitarspodcast5 ай бұрын
@@larstinderholt7438 not say you are, but there’s a few knobs who think it’s an interviewers job to simp to Steve over his songs. I couldn’t give a fark if he didn’t write it, that bass line is iconic.

He asked Steve about the Indian Premier League (cricket) and Steve turned it around to the Premier League Football. Nice swerve Mr Harris 😁👊
@talismanmia25375 ай бұрын
Great segment, thank you. I would have asked him the process by which songs make it onto an album, with 5 of the 6 band members introducing ideas and material to the others. How does one person's song end up making it while the next person's doesn't? For example, on the Senjutsu album, Harris' songwriting dominated. How did that come to be?

Blaze and Maiden didn't gel, but some of the music written and recorded for X-Factor and Virtual XI is in the upper echelon of their catalog.

The X Factor is the best Maiden album. Every song is strong.
