@@Trygvar13 Agreed; the problem is that bassists tend to be in the shadow of leads (Blackmore especially comes to mind, and loads of others in HM) but I'm a fan of Geezer, (and of course Jack Bruce and Geddy Lee as multi-talented artists in their own right). I'm not an L42 aficionado, their type of music is usually too 'safe' for me; I much prefer something with more of an edge to it, hence the metal thing.

This is exactly why Maiden don't do thatmuch interviews: the showhosts don't understand one tiny bit of their music. How great a legend Steve is amongst the best bassplayers around the world. How it is to play that kind of shows above the age of 60. Maiden have consistently played heavy metal for more than 45yrs and have a HUGE worldwide fanbase! And they always stayed faithful to their music and fans. No compromises! Up the Irons!

Back in the 80s, my buddies and I waited out back by the tour buses after one of their shows. Everyone blew past us as they exited except Steve Harris. He stopped to say hello and let us take pictures. I wanted to be Steve Harris at the time. When I got my picture with him, my grin was so exaggerated, I ruined the picture. I'll always remember how nice he was with our little group.

It's so typical of such clueless interviewers showing surprise when heavy metal musicians are actually very calm, collected and not the bunch of loud and obnoxious monsters they're expecting. And yeah...no mention of his bass playing and of the fact that he's the founder and the principal songwriter of Maiden. He's a legend for conducting himself so gracefully in the face of this pair of donkeys.

Yes, I love hearing Steve, and he is genuinely the nicest person, but the male interviewer was all kinds of ignorant regarding Maiden. Plus Steve was there to promote the BL tour. On behalf of all American Maiden/SPH/BL fans, I apologize for our press.

Brad Grant I think their audience don’t know who Maiden is, so with that in mind it was a good interview. It’s a massive step up above the record burnings of the past. After all Maiden has gotten close to zero media attention in the US as a whole.

What a great interview. Maiden come from my home town in London. I saw Maiden in their first gig at the Cart and Horses pub in Stratford East London back in 1976. I was friends with the singer. Then I was friends with their second singer Paul Dianno. Great day's 😁👍

Steve Harris is a real class act! I posted a comment on his Facebook post and I included a drawing from my 12 year old daughter. She drew a fantastic drawing of Eddie the I.M. Mascot and within a few minutes he private messaged me to tell me how talented my daughter is and we ended up chit chattering for a while. He then gave me is personal contact information and we ended up talking for a few hours. He’s a wonderful person and he really cares about his fans. Up The Irons! 🤘

Been a fan since I was school in 1980 and saw them live at a local gig in 1990. Afterwards saw Steve Harris stood at the bar in the local rock club being mobbed by all the women. Thought I was seeing things and had too much to drink. Just shows how down to earth he is and how much he appreciates his fans. No wonder I could not pull that night!

Buddy Lotion Maiden eclipsed Priest years ago. Fact. And I say that as someone who was a massive Priest fan. Priest’s early albums were great, but when the whole NWOBHM thing kicked off, Priest jumped with unseemly haste at the whole leather, motorbikes and posturing thing. Shame really, as Sad Wings of Destiny and Sin After Sin are classics. But that’s a long time ago now.

Even Bruce and nicko don't do mainstream interviews very often, I've seen them in documentaries but not like ABC news, if you know what I mean, Bruce has done interviews on BBC and CNN but ya talk shows and stuff like that, nope you wouldn't find them in any of the mainstream talk shows. So that would mean Maiden is interesting and a great live band forinterview and I don't think he is very used to it but Maiden got it's success by touring and playing live and making albums one after the other, I really don't think they needed the mainstream thing, in a strange way it worked for them.

In the end Steve Harris is just a normal guy even though he is a very talented musician. I just wanted to make some questions about the compositions to Steve and have a nice conversation about music. I hope humanity evolves and stop seeing artists as gods and idols. I hope one day we'll be able to talk to artists without worshiping them.
