I may be spoiled on seeds, but you are spoiled on nature for sure...lol! I'd have to travel 6 to 8 hours to find a mountain area as beautiful as this one. Thanks for sharing a bit of your trip with us.

We love Bunya, our favourite time to camp there is in the hear of summer. Such a nice break from home and so much cooler. We do plan on staying in a cabin in winter though. Beautiful

That little joey eating grass from inside his Mom's pocket was just adorable! What were those (Palms?) that looked like a porcuplne? What a delightful way to get away for it all!

I agree - they were adorable! The big palm-like plants are grass trees. They grow so well around the Bunyas 😊

G'day, my first trip to Bunya Mt's was 98 and stayed in a little cabin with my then pregnant wife. Arriving late she went under the covers while dad {to be} got a fire going, Went back a few years later with my young son camping and on one trip bought a Bunya nut pine seedling (2006/7?) about 6-8 inches tall, now 15-20 ft high. Have also been back with his little sister who on a bush walk (2009?) at 7 announced she was tired, "Daddy I want you to carry me" "But I have to carry the back pack (Water/food/first aid /etc) so the pack went on my front and she got a piggy back, of course! Another time it was a total fire ban (winter is dry season) so I have pictures of 2 kids in beanie's and blankets but grinning and happy while Dad cooks hamburgers. Yep many fond memories of the Bunya Mountains.

Hi Robyn, it’s a beautiful part of the world , haven’t been there for a while but it’s certainly on the list, could sit and watch Kookaburras or the King Parrots 🦜 for ages, it was always good camping because even on hot summer days it would be cooler at night. 🎂 Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
