A COYOTES BFF!

Duck Holliday is home! 2mo and 10dys after he was stolen. all I know so far is whoever had him ditch him a little wats from the house and took off. Duck was home when I got there and the neighbors said I just missed the thieves by a few minutes. Their first interaction was pretty mild and sweet! theire was a little rough time of growls and snarled but never really bit each other.

We have a mixed breed coyote who made our ranch her home. She has made herself our ranch dog. She loves our regular dogs and protects our chickens from foxes, raccoons, hawks, and other coyotes. She is extremely friendly, loves swimming in out pool. She used to take off and run with the other coyotes. I think she has self domesticated herself. I just buy a fifty pound bag of food and leave it in our garage. She picks at not sure really what she eats. Our chickens are free range and we have them all so they are not on the menu. If i forget to lock up the coop she will sleep right next to the coop gate. Otherwise she has made a bed in our garage

My dog Darling is 25% coyote n 75% border collie the ppl I got her from breed border collies n one of their breeding females got pregnant by a coyote lol they said the pups became good guard dogs for their farm so they experimented by mating one coy-dog with another border collie (my dog is one of the results) I get crap sometimes that it's dangerous to have her with my cats n around ppl but she grew up with them n she let's them beat her up she also just rescued a kitten out of the back yard a month ago me n my husband kept it guess that settled it on how dangerous she is lmao

She wasn’t a fan of other dogs when food was involved, and would get jealous easily, but she’d always snuggle with my cat, and we just paid attention to her specific needs 🥰 she was super protective over me and would always step on if she thought I was in any danger. Coy-dogs are fantastic animals. I am so glad I got to grow up with such a unique best friend. (I will mention, however, for people who do not know solid dog training skills or understand canine behavior, then it’s not a breed they should get as there is a lot involved to make sure their needs are met).

Hearing him choke up as he verbalized his feelings "I got my dog back" is what finally did me in. Most scenarios like Duck disappearance RARELY have a good ending. He is not starved he is actually at a healthy weight, his ribs, spine and hip bones aren't showing! He has the perfect tuck which is where he gets thinner in the area between the end of his ribcage and the front of his back legs! People are so used to seeing overweight dogs that seeing one at a healthy weight makes people think they're starved.🙄 Look online for what a healthy weight should look like on a dog.

Unfortunately a lot of people are not aware they cause cancer. I know of some people who gave their animals hot dogs or other products with sodium nitrate and Unfortunately every one of their animals got cancer. Yes and animals don't want food every second. If they behave like that it just a bad habit. They should have stretches of time through the day without food as well for the body to properly heal. It is actually not healthy for them to leave food out 24/7. And as well they want to enjoy their meals as well and constantly nibbling discourages that.
