The part where you said you were scream kicking and crying over a part of the book reminds me of how my oldest daughter reacts to her books sometimes. It's pretty funny when she does it, but it gives me a warm, happy feeling because I passed on the love of reading to the next generation.

A weird little tip for carrot germination is to actually put a board on top of the soil after you sow for about 4-7 days, checking to see that you have sprouts. When about 50% have come through, take it off. Carrot seeds are so small they can easily blow away or wash away or get too hot. Finicky little buggers 😂 save the greens! You can make a pretty tasty carrot top pesto for pizza and pastas!
@cupsandthoughts2 ай бұрын
you’re amazing thank you for the tip!!! i should’ve known to protect the seeds somehow, they really are so tiny 🥲🥲 i’ll do that in my next patch for sure! carrot top pesto sounds soooo good, thanks for the tip 😍✨

Hi Cat, thanks for another cosy video. As a container gardener myself I would like to give you a tip if you let me, I only mean well. I do believe that you grow your veggies directly in your own lovely compost ( please correct me if I'm am wrong ). I did that the first two year I started gardening in containers and my harvest was minimal. Plants started out great but after a while they grew poorly or died. I was about to give up until my neighbor kindly offered me some advice. He has a wonderful veggie patch and he told me that the compost I used to grow my veggies in was to "rich". You literally can kill your plants if you offer them too much nutrition. Compost is like an extra snack/ boost for them. Carrots, peppers, tomatoes, beets, onion, garlic and eggplant for instance, are grown in very sandy ground. I have since then been growing my veggies in 2 parts potting ground and 2 parts plain dirt/sand. When the plants are well established I give them a boost of a little compost to set fruit. Even straight potting ground is too rich. Some nurseries have special mixtures to start seeds but they are expensive and my mixture works great for me. Hope this helps you grow an even better crop.

This is wonderful advice, thank you! 💚

hello!! not at all! i appreciate your advice very very much!! 🥰 that’s a very good tip - i do mainly use compost to grow my crops, so i’ll definitely need to get some sandy soil to balance out the proportions. i’m also not very good with topping up my containers with extra compost so thank you for the reminder!! if you have any more advice please let me know 🥰🥰 i’d love to be better at gardening! thank you soooo much 🤍

@@cupsandthoughts Thank you for your kind reply ☺. I guess some other advice would be to shield the plants from too much wind/draft as it makes lice and other critters thrive and it breaks tiny stems. And protect them from too much harsh sun as well as baby leaves and buds burn easily in the sun. That is about it for I am still learning myself. Good luck with all of your " adventures" and sorry for my English writing I am a Dutchie living in Italy so English is not my first language.🤗🤗

I also bought a special edition of Sword of Kaigen... shall we show each other when they arrive and see if they are the same one? I don't know when mine will be here, it's been made as it was from a kickstarter campaign. It also needs to travel from the US to Spain, of course. But I can't wait to see it in the "flesh". I don't have many special editions (maybe one of two) of books because I usually prefer to buy new books or things that I actually need, but sometimes a girl needs some self-spoiling don't you think?
