When I was in 5th grade, my friend had feral cats outside and one gave birth inside their garage. She gave me one and I still remember visiting everyday as mine grew. I took her home and my mom wanted to throw her away "once she grew up." 17 years later, she died in her sleep while waiting for my mom to get home from work in her lil spot by the door. My mom, who wanted to throw her away, gotten depressed for a year. She went from "i'll throw her away when she grows up," to "I wish I stayed home last night so she wouldn't been alone." To this day, she doesn't want to get another cat. RIP Razz.

A microchip is MUCH better than a collar! Shelters and vets will check for a microchip and there's no chance of a kitty cat being hurt if they get it stuck on something. Also Olive was doing absolutely everything she could to stress out a new to her cat.
@IceRiver10209 ай бұрын
The shelter I got my cat from microchips all the animals before adopting them out, which gives some peace of mind, though I hope I never have to worry about it in the first place. They also require adopters to promise to keep the cats indoors, which is no problem for me, cats do not belong outside (at least not without a leash or something). I love them, but they're invasive, and it's not safe for them anyway. My grandparents were always the "all animals belong outside" sort, and their cats were all killed by bobcats, or dogs. They thought they could leave KITTENS outside (adopted kittens, not even ones with a mother to protect them), and those poor babies never had the chance to grow up.

personally, i prefer break away collars + microchips! if your kitty ever gets out, they can be easily identified as a pet cat instead of a stray with a collar and break-away collars are very, very easy to get free from if its snagged on something. my triplets love to play fight and their collars have been lost many times as a result lmao a testament to how well they accomplish their purpose!

Yeah. You can't just replace cats like that. Unspayed cats will find a way to leave, but they usually come back after they give birth. There was even a story about a family that left their pregnant cat behind when they moved due to the flight risk, and the cat tracked them down several states away. Side Note: you can't get upset at a cat for clawing on the chair if you don't supply them with a scratching post.

I sympathize with Dawn, because I understand her fear when a giant comes down and tries to force love on you. Olive may have done better with some research on how to welcome a cat home, But thing that struck my heart was the loneliness that Olive exudes. alone and frail and dealing with a condition, maybe alone by her own making, but i understand the loneliness in her voice. i understand the desperation for love and affection. it actually brings me to tears, so i hope that Olive and Dawn can love eachother the way they need to be loved

Growing up I always had dogs so I didn’t know how to gain the trust of a cat much less one that had already lived a life before I came around, I made a lot of the same early mistakes Olive did. She now follows me everywhere, sleeps next to me, can sense when I’m stressed or sad and comforts me, Hardly ever uses her claws on me anymore but I never blame her if she does. She is my soul pet I cannot imagine a world she isn’t with me somehow and I start to cry thinking about how this wonderful girl ended up in a shelter for so long.

please don't ever let your cats outside unless supervised, it's incredibly unsafe for both the cat itself, and everything on the planet... if your cat wants to go outside, please be responsible and keep your cat safe by buying/building a catio or getting a cat harness (they're inexpensive, my cat has one and it was roughly $14) ! indoor/outdoor cats do not live as long as indoor only cats. there are soo many dangers in the world for outdoor cats... cats are on par, mentally, with 3-4 year olds. please keep your cats safe and indoors, or simply go outside with them ❤️ it's an amazing bonding experience, walking with your cat. I wish I could post photos of my orange boy and I walking together.

When I adopted my Gaia, she was in a shelter with her sister. I was going to take both of them, but her sister had been adopted, literally by the woman in front of me. Both of them found new homes within five minutes of each other. My Luna was rescued from a drug raid. She was three-days old when she was pulled out of that nightmare and took to a surrogate mama. During my part time job, I would sometimes have to take care of the cats up for adoption. Luna was always in everything, and I had to put her over my shoulder if there was a chance of me getting anything done. She very much chose me and has been clinging to me ever since. Both of them are beautiful black cats, and I love them more than I can possibly say. ♥ How are your darlings?

This was my first playthrough of yours, and I must say, I ENJOYED IT SOOOOO MUCH!!! i was thinking about how other Let's Players would also enjoy this game!! I am a kittymom, and I also volunteer for an animal rescue, and the cats are my burden and the hardest for me because of how misunderstood they are. Ironically, they are also the most abused (YT has still to remove those channel rings that abuse precious cats and animals in general, but I wont give up!!) I cried at watching Olive pick her baby. I always pray for our rescues that they are well loved and cared for, and we are a no-k-ll rescue whose homes' are the rescues homes as well. Not a one we don't know their personality, and who they would be ond with. And best believe we don't play when it comes to making sure the adopters are the right ones. These babies deserve that. When Dawn said she didn't know she could still purr, I felt that. These poor babies have been so mistreated when they come to some rescues that they don't understand that there is still a chance for love out there. I am blessed and encouraged by the rea rescues and animal sympathizers we have on YT---and for game makers that are making games like these to help people see things through an adoptees eyes. I can't wait for the full play through!!! I so enjoy Stray, and I am still looking forward to the sequel. If your cat will tolerate a GPS collar, great! But we also use microchips for cats here. And if you can't afford them, the humane society or other local shelter places will help you with huge discounts to get them. Though you need to remember to update the info in the microchip database if you ever move or change your number etc. There is something to be said for a GPS collar or AirTag that you can track the location of, of course, but you should still get them microchipped along with it, since the collars can come off, especially if they're the breakaway kind of collars cats should be wearing.

I wish I had an enclosed yard that I could build a cat enclosure for them to eat grass and lie in the sun, but it's not safe here, with an unfenced yard and too many kids & dogs running wild. They can watch the birds in the bushes in front of my porch from their cat castle in the window though.

With orange cats, a majority are male but there are female orange cats! The reason this is is that tom cats get their colors from their mother(If the mother is black-furred, they'll be black-furred. If the mother is ginger, they'll be ginger, if the mother is a tortoiseshell, they can be either black or orange-furred). Female cats get their colors from both parents. A black-furred father and a tortoiseshell mother will produce black-furred or tortoiseshell females, so in order to get an orange cat the father has to be orange and the mother needs to either be orange or a tortoiseshell!

Crying into my strawberry yogurt and I’m not even 5mins in 😭❤️ My sweet Lilith is all black with fluffy long fur, and I ADORE her. She’s 3yrs now; I got her when she was 5weeks old & tiny. She was the only black cat in her litter and had an adorably unexpected raspy meow, and I immediately fell in love! It’s hard to just pick one kitten, but luckily kittens get adopted fast. Lilith is the most affectionate kitty I’ve ever known- she jumps into my arms (even when I’m not expecting it/ ready yet) & she asks for uppies, she lovessss to cuddle and sleep in my arms at night, purring right in my ear (then she decides to play with my hair at 4am lol), and she insists on being carried around, including when I’m on the toilet lmao. She’s so so sweet!

Oh my god whats with your voice??? I was so taken aback the whole time focusing on your voice more than the game! Absolutely stunning

I had a ginger girl cat! She was the sweetest ever. She cuddled me every night/every time I lied down.

this made me emotional straight from the beginning The game starts on June 5th, my birthday, which is also the day 16 years ago that we adopted my girl We lost her this time last year Also the character you play as in the game has a really similar accent to my mums back then, as she grew up in SA and had a mixed accent Ive been struggling with her passing recently and this video popped up at exactly the right time obviously all coincidental, but does feel like she sent the video for me a little ❤

My black cat has a human name too, Phoebe, though she has a lot of silly nicknames like Squeeker since she is very vocal, always has been since she was a baby void. She sits on my shoulder like a strange looking parrot and makes chittering noises at birds, so sometimes I'll call her Tweety. 🤣

This video was adorable, I just felt so bad for Olive, lol. Bad kitty!! I'm watching this video as "my cat" is curled up beside me purring. I write "my cat" because she used to belong to my neighbour's ex gf. We live in an area where the cats roam around the neighbourhood, there are lots of trees and hidey holes for them. When the gf moved away she didn't take the cats with her - understandably (she had 2). They were used to the neighbourhood and cats are territorial creatures. There are many street cats in my country and I always do my best to feed the cats in the area when I can afford it. So, when I moved into this neighbourhood she started coming up to me outside my gate and after a couple of months she let me pet her. I named her Pizzi (means "tiny" in my language), she's got short legs, lol. Her sister, Bella, made my backyard her new home after I moved in. I've been living here for 6 months and I feel both cats adopted me. Pizzi loves hanging out on my bed all day. She's a fuzzball. They're not so much as my cats as I am their chosen human. They are a joy and comfort to have around.

I love your playthroughs, and am I especially delighted to see this one. I feed a group of community cats on my deck each day, and when a new one came up with two feral kittens, I easily added food for them at mealtimes. She soon came up pregnant and I took her in. I named her Grumbles for her preferred method of speaking. She had 6 kittens, which I thought I could find homes for. Ha. Full shelters and lots of no shows, but I still have them all three years later. The daughter that came up with her, whom I could never catch, also came up pregnant the following year, and again, I took her in, housing her in the catio until the kittens were born. Five kittens this time. I still have them all, plus a 12 week old male that just came up last month. The freezing nights were enough for me to bring him in. I worry for their futures as I just turned 69 yesterday and really should find homes for them. They are all now neutered and spayed, sassy and sweet. Love from Grumbles, Bryan, Henry, Albert, Gracie, CoCo, Nala(puma), Sister, Peaches, Alex(ander), Levi(athan), Cloud, Sunshine Girl, and Jimmy Whiskers. We are all watching you play. :)

This game is so cute. I am actually tearing up. I have had 10 cats. I have 6 right now. But I lost the love of my life 2 months ago. She was 18 and I got her when I was 13. She was a perfect tuxedo and my constant companion. The sweetest, the softest, the cutest. She was with me through everything. I mean, I can barely remember life before her. I cannot bear life after her. Every day is a battle. I love my other cats, but it's just different. I'd give away everything I have if I got to have her back. Now I am legitimately sobbing.

Oh, I can already tell this video is going to make me cry. My mom and I we have an habit of rescuing animals from the street. We have three cats and one dog who were all abandoned and honestly... How could someone do something like that? Right now we are taking care of four kittens my step father found near his work and we're waiting for them to get bigger for adoption. I just feed them and right now I'm sitting on the ground while watching this video and watching them play with each other. They're still very distrustful of me, with their little hisses but they are just the cutest babies.

A mobile game you can play off camera is Dear My Kitty, it’s a very cute but also kind of sad game. You basically take care of a bunch of cats up in cat heaven and you can learn about the cats’ lives and how they died and talk to them and.. it’s just adorable but sad all at once
@organism70029 ай бұрын
man before the game even properly started i was sobbing. recently lost my sweet sweet cuddly one-eyed gremlin son (noog), i had him for 13 years and he was such a nervous little guy but he was everything to me. he had to be put down because of his heart problems and he died in my arms. he always used to wiggle his paws whenever i touched them so when i held his paw for the last time and it just flopped limp it fucking destroyed me. i miss my little guy so much. now i have just two cats, my ex-feral boy kirby who reminds me of noog but with fewer braincells, and this absolute MENACE of a tabby called fig. i get so soppy over cats istg.

I honestly got emotional because of you getting emotional. LOL I remember my family cats that are no longer with us, and it's true, you never forget them. I'm renting atm & can't have any pets, but someday I'll adopt again. Also, orange cats are usually male, but one of my girls was a ginger and I think that's rare.

I am falling in love with this game. And the name Dawn is such a cute name for a cat. I think a cat's trust is a very powerful thing in this world. And it depends on the cat. Some cats are more trusting than others. And that's okay. I think every human has a cat hidden within. And my favorite is the black cat as I've had them all my life. I'm going to be playing the demo now as this looks really cute :)

I say sad, because I and many of us would relate to this and have empathy for certain scenarios, which makes this more wonderful, I do hope this gets a full release

Our cat Charlie is a girl ginger. She was a stray that we were sure was dropped off at our little farm. She had kittens before we could get her inside, but around the four week mark, we got them all inside. We let people adopt four of them and kept the last one. He's almost the spitting image of his mother, and both of them have been living comfortably with us for a little over a year now! Love the chirpy girl and her eccentric boy, CJ!

Stray was the one that got me. Firstly when you get out you din’t find your friends and your buddy is dead. Also some people will save you but you never see them again. I think one person did this. I really want a part two. Maybe you could jump around trying to find everyone and then its a happy ending. Great vid btw even tho I’ve only watched like 5 seconds.
