I did the exact same thing -- the color soft was such a disappointment and for that price point, it was ridiculous. It felt like they spent a month on it and then put it out rather than actually 1) listening to what readers want in an e-reader and 2) testing it themselves to ensure there were no issues. Like you said, one issue is fine but for it to be several is annoying. Hope they get it together in the future so I can order a better edition. I ended up returning mine and getting the new paper white like you did and I don't regret it one bit

About the kindle- why not just buy an iPad? I use it to read with the kindle app: the screen is bigger, u see the cover of the books in color and also the highlights is in color. I can have other apps to read there too such as Everend and Libby and I can download other apps to use if I want that has nothing to do with reading such as KZbin, Instagram etc.

I’m sure you know this already but just in case! Simmer pots can cause mold in closets and cabinets if they’re left on for too long or if they’re on too high. Obviously only if it’s every day or already humid where you live often.

I bought a kindle on sale once and apparently a condition of the sale is instead of the artsy lock screens it would lock to show amazon ads on it. Just as an FYI that that’s sometimes a condition of the “discount” if it bothers you

You can always pay to have the ads removed later. Go into devices and pay the $20 for the device to have ads removed. Customer service used to do a one-time courtesy removal but pretty sure those days are over.
