when you were talking about accidentally getting blood on your sheets (which I’ve done sooo many times hahah) throw an old towel you don’t use anymore where you sleep! I’ve done that and I haven’t gotten blood on my sheets since!

I was on spironolactone for acne and it did clear my acne for a bit but it messed with my hormones and my period !!! (long term) I regret taking it honestly. I ended up doing more research into it and it's used for men doing hormone therapy so it's really strange to me that doctors prescribe it for acne because it's not getting to the root cause, just messing with a woman's hormones. My body did not like being on it and I'm so glad I stopped taking it. You totally do you, just wanted to share what I've learned about it and my experience. love you Marla

it did the same for me! It’s also used as a blood pressure medication so it made me hypotensive and I was tired all the time so I went off it.

I had the same experience. I went off of Spiro in February of 2023 after 2.5 years consistently taking it. Since then, I have had random extremely painful periods that often don’t allow me to go to work on the first day. I am being extremely intentional about getting good nutrition and trying to relieve stress because my hormones are so out of whack. This is my experience, but do your own research. My acne returned after getting off of spironolactone, but with consistency it is beginning to clear again and I choose acne over awful periods every day of the week.
