What is the tip?
Head out to your local park and turn it into a battlefield! In your imagination at least! :)
Sometimes martial artists get lost in details. It seems there is always another nuance or subtlety to explore. But those little things mean nothing if BIG things are neglected!
The biggest thing is your warrior spirit. The feeling you get running through a field with hundreds of soldiers behind you, charging into battle to defend your home.
When you run through a park swinging a stick, you get a different perspective on what's most important in a fight. I'm not just talking about techniques, I'm talking about the primal drive to survive.
Once you wake up the warrior inside, the trick is to carry it back into class with you. Find the balance in your martial arts training between mind and spirit. Master both dimensions and you will be on the path to enlightenment and empowerment.
