I think he put two layers of plywood around the legs. Those must be able to slide, so maybe have 1mm of room between them, though it looks like a solid piece from further away. Maybe he beveled the top piece to hide where both pieces meet? 🔻 No idea how, maybe camera magic 😇 I think you could customize that a lot - to change the style of a standing desk.
