Nice one Nicolette! As someone who hates bad debt, I have really found comfort in this method over the years because the benefits literally far outway the costs , if you use it the way you are supposed to though. The other other benefits I enjoy are how easy it is to transfer money into a credit card when you are ready to settle ( I feel like some creditors make it difficult on purpose ). I'm also scared of debt so seeing that amount everytime I open my app is a motivational benefit on its own. Discipline will always be a factor in all areas of finances be it investments, savings or not touching your emergency fund. There's no running away from it.

Credit cards are not evil as people make them sound. It's all about discipline. I have 2 from different banks. One limit is R67k & another is R110k. As you say I use it only for purchases, debt orders go off my cheque acc. I settle it in full when I get paid. No interest since i settle it before 55 days. I know my monthly budget, hence I don't over use or spend it. I just use one, the other one is just nje for control, a back up!

Feedback I got from Nedbank was "Unfortunately your credit score did not meet the requirements for this product" 🤔 as for capitec they couldn't give me a reason yet they offered a personal loan just above 200K. It is a good credit card to boost your credit score. I started using it in August but I only R55 every month, R30 for credit facility fee and R25 for account fee as I always make sure that I have the R2000 in the card before the 28th of every month. I use about R1000 at the start of every month for groceries and settle it before the 20th. My credit score moved from 0 to 500 in about 4 months
