Digging this Jag. I need a Jag. I like the simplicity of it this way. Straight up rock and roll machine now. If I owned it, I'd cut a custom pick guard on my CNC to go over the additional cavity. Make it even more of a one of a kind. I look at it this way - most if not all "famous" guitars have quirks and tweaks to them, that's what makes them special. Rock on Jim and let me know if you want to sell that bad boy.
@AudiomoMusic2 ай бұрын
It's kind of cool the way it is indeed, but I actually am leaning towards selling it after I swap the pickups for a set of pure vintage 65's in it to put the lollars in a different Jag. I don't have it in me to do any routing to fit the rhythm circuit and I really want a rhythm circuit on a keeper jag. you can shoot me an email at info @ audiomomusic.com if you want to talk about it

I follow a dude on Insta who returned this one already after finding all the mods. Glad you’re giving it a new life! FYI the Marr Jag has different routes. I know this because I had to do the opposite to convert my AVRI Jag to Marr spec lol Also a bit of a shame you didn't keep the Marr wiring, I love the traditional wiring but the Marr wiring does unlock some new and interesting sonic possibilities.

Yeah he's a cool dude, he sent me a message earlier I had no idea he had this before I did and we shared some of the backstories we both had with it haha I don't find any value in series wiring for a Fender Jaguar so the 4 way was something that was always going to go for me, i'm happy it works for some people on these and teles but they aren't sounds I find useful in practical applications for what I normally play.

@AudiomoMusic….an idea for the upper switch is perhaps do an Esquire mod and have a couple of presets. You can do a .0047 capacitor for a wah nasal sound and do a .010 capacitor for a warmer, and throatier sound. The extra focused midrange could be nice option to cut in a mix for recording or a live gig.

Jim, I cannot believe that someone would have the audacity to strip the guitar of its parts and return it with cheap ones! However, you have it sounding great both clean and with overdrive too. Are you eventually going to reinstate the rhythm circuit? And you must tell us when you find out why that rhythm circuit plate wouldn't fit. Look forward to seeing it with mint pickguard too. Well done for rescuing the guitar and putting your stamp on it. I wonder if it will be a keeper when finished?? 🎸🎸

Sadly nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to what people will do for a few bucks. I’d like to potentially do that but I’m not sure if this is truly a keeper or not this far. I have a jaguar also here that I feel is a much better guitar but I’m trying to adapt to the weight difference as this one is a bit lighter and the other one is by far the heaviest I’ve ever had.

@@AudiomoMusic How did you remove it? Did it leave any residual effects after it was removed? I have a Marr Jaguar and I have thought about removing the signature decal and trying to immediately move it to the BACK of the headstock... think that is possible?
@Markleford2 ай бұрын
Sad that some scumbag out there did this, but as we say, "It's all about the neck". If you got the "impostor signature" for cheap enough, it could be quite worth it in due time. Looking forward to see how this develops (like fixing that rhythm circuit) and whether it becomes a keeper!

It sucks because obviously whoever took this guitar as a return at GC had NO idea what they were looking at because anyone with any experience would have laughed at the guy in the face... it was that obvious and bad of job. However at the end of the day, I can't do anything about that and ended up with a fun project!

I'm a big fan of Johnny Marr, but the first person to ruin it was Johnny Marr. I've watched the Fender puff pieces with him, and I still can't rationalise what he is saying about changing the traditional switching. If the result of a signature model is to change what made a guitar great in the first place, then don't bother, soft lad. Follow up vids would be great, Jim. All the best.

Bro, I saw this same guitar on someone else’s instagram! What a scam from Guitar Center.
@AudiomoMusic2 ай бұрын
It's not a scam on Guitar Center at all, it's a scam from the scumbag who bought it from Guitar Center gutted it for all of the valuable parts, sold them off, then returned it with garbage parts ( Which GC should absolutely have noticed but it doesn't change the fact they didn't maliciously do this themselves ). At the end of the day that one individuals shameless lack of ethics started this entire situation.
@mywhitenoise_2 ай бұрын
@@AudiomoMusic sure, but they need to do the minimal amount of research of $2000 guitars they’re selling. The different case is the first give away, then the bridge, and the non “Fender” marked trem plate. Too many obvious signs, they also listed the ad with pictures of a genuine Johnny Marr Jag…so yeah, now that I think about it, total scam on their part.
