Actually, Ben Stiller didn't ask him. He just showed him the script asking for feedback, and Tom Cruise was like "I want to play the studio executive, and I want fat hands and I want to dance."

The acting in this was off the scale... It's almost as though because they knew it was a parody, the rule book was out the window and they had fun with their characters and played them to extreme and its brilliant to watch!
