Hi Sharla! I've never used one of those Dyson curlers but I know a ton of people that have them and they all love them. They do the hot setting to curl and then the cool setting to set it in place. Highly recommend. Also I would love to see more blind boxes and stuff especially more of that creepy vending machine where people wrap the boxes in weird stories. Ok goodbye love closetwarrior

I’m professional hairdresser and I love my dyson I’ve had it for around a year and a half now. there Is definitely a learning curve you want to hold the hair in the middle and let the ends wrap there selfs and curl it with 80% dry hair. If you decide to splurge you won’t be disappointed

kittens should be 10-12 weeks before they are separated from mom... :( Shops in my country are no longer allowed to sell puppies or kittens. It's such a bad environment for them to be in.

A cup or so of watermelon before working out will help keep you hydrated. Another after your workout will help with the recovery soreness as well. There are enzymes in watermelon that help your body process the lactic acid build up faster than just suffering through the pain

Hi Sharla I make Quinoa Power Porridge. 1 cup tricolored quinoa (rinsed and drained).13.5 ounce can unsweetened coconut milk 1/4 cup of water 2 tablespoons maple syrup or blackstrap molasses 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup of fresh organic fruit (blueberries, peaches, pomegranate seeds) 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes ¼ cup chopped cashews Place the quinoa, coconut milk, water, maple syrup, salt, and vanilla extract in a medium size saucepan (with a tight lid) and heat it over medium high heat. Bring it to a boil, turn the heat down to low, and put the lid on. Cook until most of the liquid is absorbed, about 18 to 20 minutes. Once cooked, let it sit on the counter for about 10 to 20 minutes. Before serving, fluff it with a fork. When ready to serve top it off with fresh fruit, coconut flakes, chopped cashews.This is good cold too.I remember when I got the two furbabies I have now as babies.I got new Daddy Syndrome and my wife got New Mother Syndrome. Every time I see videos in Japan I feel homesick even though I’ve never had the chance to go. I never used to believe in past lives, or at least I was skeptical, but I feel such a massive connection to Japan that I’m almost inclined to think I was Japanese in a past life. It’s the strangest thing. Purin is so cute! WOW! What a precious baby! There’s no way I would be able to say no to that little fur baby! When you mentioned the cereal things floating in the sakura drink it reminded me of the Cotton Candy Blizzards at Dairy Queen. They have crunchy little bits in them that are kind of like Fruity Pebbles. So good!

Speaking of the drink with rice pudding in it, I made rice pudding today, I love it! Such comfort food. Pets are so expensive in Japan. Got my cat from a rescue shelter when she was a kitten and had her for 17 years. Still miss her.

The dyson is great for that blow out look, but not for tight curls. It’s a little bit of a learning curve at first, but overall I love it. For more defined look, the sea salt spay works so well with it and a light hair spray. Also, make sure sure you’re hair isn’t damp as many reviews have been doing wrong. You want it more 90-95% dry, otherwise you will be waiting for sometime for it to dry and hold the curl. Overall I found it worth it for that light curl with bounce and appreciate how my hair doesn’t feel damaged while having a nice healthy shine.

i have been busy, so watching these videos and some old ones too. Enjoying them, your experience helps me in realizing how fun it can be to travel around over there. i do watch other random vlogs of "daily life in japan" things. I tried/had learn japanese and all that, but with my autism and adhd its been heard to concentrate on it. i stopped studying it but i still enjoy reading and looking at history of japan in general. i have huge ass book i got from the library they were giving away for free of "history of japan" and i think it talks some about how they immigrant to america too. Its odd but fun. I love japan, i want to travel when i get into my 30s or 40s. Doing my best to save up now but its hard when i have to help take care of my family and dogs an myself. im 22, living with my parents and little brother plus 2 small dogs. At the moment i cant really live on my own due to my anxiety attacks and other personal reasons. im that fucked up xD Sharmander i do hope you keep making these vlog like videos into more of this year and next, i remember 2018 i think it that i watched your videos ALOT to 2019 then i just stopped idky. Keep up your awesome self!

If you’re having trouble concentrating on studying with books try just watching Japanese shows/movies with eng subs, and listening to what they say - you’ll pick up phrases eventually! I learned a lot from listening to music and studying the meaning of the lyrics too :) playing simple video games in Japanese is also great ;D

Good to keep awareness up for it! But everything I've heard from friends sounds like its really hard to adopt pets in Japan. From what I can work out there are fewer rescue centers/shelters in Japan compared to say the UK or US, and even if you find one its even harder to adopt one if you're not Japanese (not sure about for Japanese people). I mostly hear of people I know finding strays and taking them in rather than going to a shelter. However if pet shops weren't so popular I wonder if more people would adopt?

Agree!! It’s nowhere near as difficult to adopt as some of these jvloggers make out! I adopted 2 cats recently from ARK which was very easy (they have several locations) and there are shelter cafes all over the country with cats waiting to be adopted! There’s also the japan cat network - I wish this misinformation about ‘foreigners can only buy from pet shops’ would stop being spread! Pet shops are terrible, please instead adopt from a shelter! Yes shelter cats aren’t always the big fluffy designer cats pet shops sell, but cats are cats

Jade Sudock it really depends on where you look I think. Some of the big shelters (there are not too many of them too) make it hard for foreigners to adopt, that’s true. But there are sooo many people fostering privately and it’s really not that hard to adopt if you try and look. You have to know Japanese and do some digging, though, depending on where you are. But even if your Japanese isn’t that good, I’m sure most foster parents will let you adopt if you have a friend who can translate and if you can actually care for the pet responsibly (as in live in Japan and/or take the pet if you are going to go back home). I am a foreigner living in Japan and have volunteered alongside private rescuers and foster parents, two of my cats are right from the streets and one is adopted from a private shelter. You just have to find the right people, they will be happy to let you adopt.

By the way, you talking about Twitch streams actually reminded me: I know you're big into horror, supernatural and things like that. Would you potentially be interested in a horror-themed tabletop RPG series that was actually done live on Twitch? Would you happen to be able to speak about the pet stores in Japan? I know that here in the US for the most part they no longer exist. The adoption process does exist through some store like Petco though that partner up with places like the Humane Society and other Cat / Dog adoption non-profits. I was a little concerned seeing that there is a pet store that people go to at a mall. However, I'm trying to not pass judgement and understand more about this process. Thanks.

Same, I also would like to know more about the age those kittens get separated from their mothers. She mentioned that the cat was 2 month that day, Mark send her fotos of the kitten the week before so the kitten would have been around 7 weeks old. The earliest you should ever consider separating a kitten from their mother is 8 weeks, but experts agree that they should stay with their mothers for at least 10-12 weeks. It always bothers me when I see kittens being sold that are way too young to even be away from their mothers. :(

I own the Dyson Airwrap and it is seriously so awesome! "Sadly" my hair is so long and thick to a point where the curls fall out too easily for me but I can't live without the blow dryer and straightening combs anymore. Also @the part in the video: It also holds to the wand if your hair is damp, so that is the reason it didn't really hold onto your hair in the store! If you get it I hope you give an update if you like it :-) All I can say is I recommend it a lot. Also Purin is the cutest... ;_; I love the name choice considering he had the pudding drink the same day!

@@sharlainjapan watch some tutorials on how to use it, it does have learning curve. Fluerdeforce has a good tutorial on it. I like to use it upsidedown more like traditional curling wand, i wrap it while wet myself then turn it on and hold it. That lets me use it when my hair is more wet and it holds better. (Getting it to wrap itself can be a bit tricky and really needs your hair to be the right amount of damp.) In the video you were trying to wrap it the wrong direction, there are arrows on the barrels and you have to use the right direction.

I'm glad Japan has you fill out all that paperwork and they teach you how to take care of them. I feel in the US pets are just given to anyone especially when they come from stores, from my experience when you get them from a rescue they are more thorough, and they are even treated badly in the stores. I hope this helps in the reduction of animals being treated poorly.
